My sister is here and all the staff are wonderful with her. Her care is excellent that she receives. She is definitely a handful and her caregivers are very patient with her. A big thank you to all of them.
I have worked with Victoria Village multiple times as a community partner and am continually impressed by them. When I have supported seniors to move into Victoria Village the residents and their families are always put at ease by the wonderful care they provide. Jolene Morrow is especially helpful and caring. Thanks for all you do in Barrie for our seniors!
UPDATE: 2022nnI chose to update this review because after 4 years and being a Essential Caregiver for my parents at this facility ESPECIALLY during Covid Pandemic it is only fair.nThere are times when staffing levels have been low, but I have come to learn that VV staff are more than willing to pick up the slack. I must say now that care for my parents has been 95% and getting to know the staff has been a pleasure and seeing that they honestly care about the residents. From the laundry room staff to CEO, they are top notch.nBeing an honest review Yes things sometimes get overlooked or hasty decisions BUT at the end of the day. The residents care is #1.nnI have experience with other LTC facilities in Simcoe County and VV is definitely among top 3.nnI visit this facility daily to care for family member. For 20 months I have observed many questionable circumstances.nIt appears that like I'm sure many places there are great staff that care and others who just show up to collect a pay chequennThe biggest concern and I have many documented examples is that facility management HAS NO CLUE and often one department doesn't follow recommendations of anothernnWhen you get the tour and sales pitch, it's not as advertised . To many bosses, not enough staff, 2 PSWs for 20 residents is common.nn3 stars only because some staff deserve an award.
I had a great experience dealing with this facility. Dustin was one among many exemplary employees. My mothers room was always immaculate and she was well taken care of.
My mum is now living at VVManor and I want to give a big thank you to everyone who has helped us on this journey. It's a difficult one and the people who work at VVManor are dedicated, loving, professional and listen intently. They do their very best to help our elders keep their dignity while suffering from a broad range of old age diseases and challenges. I wish I could have given a 5 star however, as with all humans, there are some people that perhaps don't have their whole heart in their job. It's a hard job to say the least and everyone has a bad day and I expect people can become hardened to their surroundings. It's just not a positive thing when the receiving end is an elder who cannot express themselves like they used to or family members who feel stressed. The positive and excellent care from 98% of the caregivers is what gives my mom proper support and nursing and family peace of mind.Thank you Victoria Village team for welcoming my mother!
