I used to work here during the pandemic. This place is awful. The morning staff and nurses are just dull, lazy, not helpful at all and they backstab each other despite being short- staffed already. No wonder the staff turnover is high. very toxic work environment.
My girlfriend worked there for 2 years had a pretty good attendance record minus some time off during COVID DUE to their policies of not being there until symptom free etc.nnShe left due to some staff mistreatment and bullying going on and to get herself in a better mental and physical state and recently asked to come back the D.O.C said so long as you can say your attendance won’t be an issue we would like to have you in our casual pool.nnMy girlfriend reached back out and said she’s in a way better place now and that her attendance won’t be affected but pointed out because she’s an honest person that she is pregnant and getting back to work is important etc.nnThen was met with a bull* response of “after further review of your attendance” I regret to inform you but we can’t rehire you.nnThis was obviously because she revealed she was pregnant and is discrimination from hiring her because she is pregnant and I’m sure it’s something that the human rights commission of Ontario, CLAC, labour board etc would love to hear about.
Reviews are not the way to go about finding the right home for the most part. It is very hard to motivate someone to come on and say good things. But, with that said, My 65 year old mother was in this home for about 6 months near the end of her life. She had a VERY high level of needs medically and this is one of the reasons we chose IOOF. They took perfect care of her and the staff were amazing. Before we even went into her room to visit the staff would interact with us and let us know what type of day she was having or if there were any issues. The facility, even in the old part is very nice. They keep re-investing money into improving the facility. I would highly recommend making this home one of the top choices on your list.
Our sister was not with the IOOF for very long but the time she spent there was full of excellent caring by the professional nursing staff right down to the compassionate laundry and cleaning staff. We cannot say enough about how they helped make my sister's stay a comfortable one. They treat you like family. Thank you to everyone.
MY WIFE CAME FOR REHABILITATION ! I CAN NOT SAY ENOUGH ABOUT THE CARING STAFF THAT LOOKED AFTER HER WHILE SHE WAS THERE, THEY TRULY ARE SPECIAL !
