Velvet Lane Cakes

I love when business deliver and even exceed what is promised. After some research looking for cakes for valentines day, I decided to get the HEART cake from Velvet Lane Cakes. I was a little nervous on how it would look and taste. When I opened the box, I was definitely surprised. It looked even better then it did in the pictures. It felt like the cake was made with time, love, and care. I love when businesses deliver on what is promised, but in this case they exceeded. It is often a pattern when somethings looks really good, it does not taste that good. This is a common occurrence with wedding cakes for example. This is was not the case for the HEART cake from Velvet Lane Cakes. I am not really a fan of sweet things but when I tried this cake I rediscovered what I had been missing for a long time, I was definitely not expecting it to taste that good. My finance also really enjoyed the cake. I had some left overs that I shared with some family members and they all loved the cake and asked where I got it from. Usually I only get compliments like that for food I make myself I can easily tell between fake and real compliments and I don't like when someone tells me my food is good when it is not, so was happy to here they all really enjoyed the cake. Would definitely recommend and will be back very soon for some more CAKE!

Velvet Lane not only makes beautiful cakes that taste amazing but they are there for their clients and have come through for me for some of the most important events in my family's lives. The work is perfection and the precision and detail in the handmade objects and characters is like nothing I have been able to find in the city. Forever grateful I found this gem! Everyone was raving about my son's first birthday cake!!!

Beyond happy with these custom unicorn cakes Velvet Lane produced for our twin girls first birthday party. They were absolutely stunning and tasted great -- one cake was a mix of vanilla/coconut, and another with vanilla/hazelnut. They were such a hit everybody loved them. In my experience cakes that look this pretty don't always taste the best, but these cakes were gorgeous AND delicious. They were also packaged really well so that they don't move during transportation. Totally worth it, highly recommend!

I've ordered from Velvet Cakes twice now, once for Valentine's and another for a friend's 30th birthday. Both times the service they provided was amazing! They were so accommodating with the change in delivery dates and the cake was simply delicious. It turned out exactly like how I'd expected and my guests loved it. 100% recommend them for any events, they're the best for customized cakes at a reasonable price.

Velvet Lane did our wedding cake and were great to work with! Communicating pre-wedding was easy via email, where we were able to discuss cake specs and design, and the VL team was very responsive to questions and ideas. Pricing was reasonable and they offered options in various ranges. Delivery was seamless the day of. The cake itself was beautiful - even better than the design ideas I sent - and delicious. I will definitely be a return customer for future birthdays and events!

If you like cute and girly cakes that is sweet and moist, Velvet Lane Cakes is the place to go! For my birthday this year my boyfriend surprised me with a cake and it is the most beautiful cake I have ever seen. It was a small sized letter "M" vanilla cake decorated with golden chocolate, real flowers and macarons. Everyone that laid eyes on it still remembers how pretty it was, my boyfriend and I still rave about how good it was. I can't wait to order more birthday cakes from them!

Ordered the pink ombre cake from here for my girlfriend's 30th birthday. One of the most elegant and beautifully crafted cakes I've ever seen. Everyone at the party thought it was stunning. And the best part was that it tasted as good as it looks!

The cake was really delicious! So soft and the yummiest buttercream. It was quite tall and everyone enjoyed it. The package was super cute with a candle and a note on how to serve it. It really made my birthday so special! Thank you
