Gotta say go their once in awhile to have some tasty spicy chicken patties. Can get them in half a dozen or full dozen, they come out incredible. Always eat there, it's the best Update; Unfortunately they're going to close down their location at Yonge & Elm St. Based on the construction plan of a new Condo Residency. Sad But still support the love if they can find a new location
Been meaning to try this place for awhile and finally got a chance yesterday. You can’t beat the price - two patties for $4 and change - and the patties were pretty filling. I tried the spicy chicken and very spicy beef one. Both were delicious. Great for a quick bite on the run or for cheaper.
Basic tasty patties. Don't question it, just get yourself a party combo which is 2 beef patties spicy and extra spicy, a can of pop and have yourself a smileFood: 5/5
Great, tiny spot right off younge street. Cute little side street with a great vibe. Patties were delish - we got them with coco bread. Nice soft and fresh! Would definitely recommend if you happen to be downtown. There's 10 minute loading parking too.
I had the medium spice and it was really good! Best I’ve had in a while. The staff are nice and the price can’t be beat for a lunch!Recommended dishesBeef Patties
Although the patties are very reasonably priced, they aren't very pleasant to eat. The outer shell of a good patty is supposed to be light and flakey, while the ones here are rock hard. Also the filling of the beef patties are too liquid and scolding hot. You almost have to wait 5-10 minutes before you can eat them without burning your mouth.
Great friendly service but terrible patties for people who actually know what a Jamaican patty is supposed to be. A Jamaican beef patty is supposed to comprise of bursting well seasoned ground beef and some bread filling mix to bind the ground beef. The filling of the "beef patties" at the Patty Express comprises of a minuscule amount of very running "liquefied meat product". It's obvious that since the 1990's the quality of patties in Toronto has gone way downhill and we're left with such companies who are making an excellent profit with a highly watered-down product to a populace which doesn't seem to have a strong appreciation of how they are getting ripped-off with a substandard product.
The dude working in the evenings is understandably overworked because he pays no attention to what the customer is asking for. I asked specifically for all regular spicy patties in a box of half dozen. He listened to me and even acknowledged but still mixed up the spicy with extra spicy and not spicy ones. Possibly thinking the customer won’t notice once the patties are sealed in the box. If you are tired, take a break or ask for more workers. If you dislike your job, quit and get a new one.
The young man working behind the counter was so lovely to deal with. You could tell he was tired, working the cash desk and keeping the ovens going - but he was so polite and helpful. And, it helped that the patties were yummy.
The worker is so fast when he's serving you. Order a drink next time and watch him reach into the drink fridge - it's like he's dancing or something Patties are good - the regular spicy ones are a good amount of spice for someone who can only moderately handle spice!
