Beautiful building. Library is really nice and clean. Plenty of spaces available for reading books or studying. There are dedicated quiet rooms as well.
This is a must see building in downtown Vancouver. The atrium at the entrance feels like being outdoors, even when you are protected from the rain. There is a floor with board games, and the rooftop has a good view of the city.
Gorgeous library. I wish I'd known of this place sooner and not just the day I left YVR. Clean. Staff are friendly and give directions accordingly. Their rooftop garden sitting area must be gorgeous in the summer/spring. Was refreshing to see a library well kept.
VPL – is one of my go-to spots in the city. The Central Branch has an impressive collection of legal texts, case law references and research materials that are actually useful for real practice. On top of that, the selection of bestsellers and new releases makes it easy to take a break from work and enjoy something lighter. Beautiful space, well-organized and one of the best public resources in Vancouver.
Beautiful and dated at once. It feels like a university library and has many areas where to work quietly.nnThe children's library is undergoing a massive renovation, but you can still borrow children's books and attend events and workshops.nnAn old-fashioned cardex can still be consulted. And there are information boards throughout the library for different communities.
