Every once and a while you can find something good at one of these stores. The only thing that I don't quite like or understand is, everything is donated and they charge way to much for a lot of items.
This store is really hit or miss, it's also a haven for resellers who don't even try to hide it anymore my wife and I were in the store a week or so ago, she was looking at clothing and I the furniture. I found a shelving unit that I wanted to purchase and I was able to get someone to help. The gentleman said sure no problem, said he had to go to the back to get the write up slips....well, he never came back. I should note this was about 45 minutes until closing. My wife found a few things and we headed up to the cash. The lady at the cash asked if we found everything okay and I said I was still waiting for help in the back. She then states that they were close to close and they don't "deal with" the furniture at that point. So, the guy who was helping me, instead of being a decent human and mentioning that, just decides to hide in the back...good job value village
I'm there almost every week. I have picked up some good bargains. Every day Is a new selection. It Is getting a little pricey? Common guys, you get it free! If you pick something up you like don't put it down! It will be gone ! Lots of fun. I WILL NOT USE SELF CHECKOUTS!
Five point Thrift Store rating scale 1 star for each: 1 A- Friendly, helpful staff 1 B- organized, clean store 1 C- wide selection of quality items, reasonably second hand prices 1 D- Change Rooms 1 E- Seniors’ discount This location: B, E 30% off for seniors every Tuesday, not sure if it's 55 or 60 years and older Change rooms are not available, which is pretty ridiculous. You can only bring clothing items back within two weeks for exchange, meaning you have to find something right away. You can't get store credit to come back and use later. Notes: Thrift stores used to be where you go for lower prices and deals than Walmart or the dollar store. This is no longer the case for the most part. Value Village is very well organized store and clean. Very large. Clothing is usually in good or excellent condition but other items can be in various stages of disrepair and still priced high. Staff tend to be stand offish, and often huddle in small groups laughing and talking when customers are waiting for assistance or for cash out.
Found a package with some craft items in it that I was interested. While waiting in line, some items fell out. This is when I noticed the bag was ripped open on both sides. I inquired if it would be possible to get a discount since I didn't know if anything was missing. The response was "NO. Should as is!" I left it there. Not worth the rudeness & disrespect!
This specific Value Village location is absolutely the ugliest and dirtiest thrift store I've ever seen considering how torn up and dirty the inside of the store is. Every single one of the employees here are complete rejected waste. : There are much better locations than this with PROFESSIONAL customer service and HELPFUL employees who are always positive when attending their jobs. There is this so-called "employee" at this location named Hannah. She always has such a disgusting attitude look on her face. She never provides customer service and is hardly helpful when assisting customers. I always believed to myself that Whitby was a lovely city but really it's just full of too many untolerated and filthy young people who can to serve themselves or customers who are in their same age group with such dirty habits and dull personalities and a so-called "attractive" appearance MUCH better than genuine customers.
Absolutely ridiculous prices. Selling items from Dollarama with stickers still on the items for 4.99. when brought to the attention of staff the person said "this is a for profit business". Disgusting will never donate or step foot in one of these stores again. These stores should not be allowed to receive free donations. Shameful!
Nice building and variety of items, but prices were not as cheap as I thought they should be, my f3eling is for the price difference, I would rather buy new.
The best thrift store of the neighborhood. Value Village has everything and I like to go shopping and be surprised. I buy clothes of course, but also books, vinyl, and stuff for the house. We also found an amazing Chinese costume that we put in our bedroom. The more often I go, the more often I am surprised by what I can find. An adventure. That’s it
Overpriced for used/donated products. I have no idea when thrifting became so expensive. It no longer seems worth it when there are other affordable alternatives. The only reason this store received a 2-star rating is because the staff here was extremely helpful and friendly.
