My friend and I went for Thai Massage at Urban Nirvana. I had a good experience with Krystal, but unfortunately, my friend had a horrible experience with Nikki. Nikki expressed concerns about my friend's health, but upon questioning could only tell her that her muscle was "flipped." Upon questioning, Nikki could not identify the muscle or even muscle group that she was talking about. During the treatment, at no point did Nikki ask if the pressure was too much or too little. Instead, she insisted that my friend was too tense and to relax. After telling Nikki that she was trying as best as she can to relax, Nikki told her that the problem is that she needs to "relax her mind." While I agree that meditative mental states are imperative to physical wellness, telling someone to "relax their mind" then and there is not going to help anyone especially on the first treatment, before developing any kind of client/practitioner relationship, especially if the client came there to achieve relaxation! My friend is just graduating from school and will be working in the health care field. At the end of the treatment, Nikki told her that "if she cannot heal herself, she should not be treating others." Although this fortune cookie statement may be true at times, it is absolutely inappropriate to say to a young woman just beginning her career. My friend left completely confused and hurt - feeling as if she could not enjoy the treatment because it was her fault she could not "relax" and that she will not be able to fulfill her role in her work if she could not "heal herself." I am absolutely disgusted at the type of treatment my friend received and I would never refer Nikki or Urban Nirvana to anyone else. I would also like to note that I sent these comments to Urban Nirvana themselves and never heard back. I also emailed them asking if they had received this review... and never heard back. It has been 3 weeks since sending the initial review to Urban Nirvana.

Tried a thai couple RMT massage. Was good and felt amazing after. The RMTs were really nice and made us feel very comfortable. They gave us advice on what we need to work on to fix some of our problems after the massage was finished (I.e. work on my core to alleviate pain on my lower back). Not that important but I was hoping to have a massage face cradle for when laying belly down. The price is also a little higher compared to other Rmts.

I get Thai and Swedish massages here. My RMT, Nana, is very skilled, communicative, and friendly.

This is hands down the best place to get a massage or alternative treatment in Toronto. I promise, and not just because I am the owner. I have personally tried every massage therapist and they are all amazing! I also went to see our Osteopath Yuri and Chinese Medicine / Acupuncturist Carly after my recent car accident. Not only did they help me recover quickly but they also found and fixed other problems that I have had for a long time.
