First of all, I've eaten here at least 3+ times. During the most recent visit, the food was splendid, as usual. That being said, there were two small issues that bothered me during my meal. One, a four course meal for one person shouldn't take 2+ hours. Second, a veteran named Scott approached me and asked for food and/or money. Initially, I was disturbed by it. But after thinking about it long and hard, I felt that we, as a society, failed to help and support those who need us, particularly the veterans. Charity does begin at home! So instead of shooing them away like a pest, I'd like to see all of us step up to the plate and give them a hand, or do as much as you're comfortable with.

One of the best in New Haven. Delicious food paired with professional and superb service. Great for celebrations or just enjoying a nice dinner. Very knowledgeable staff. Always know the ins and outs of the recipes and which wine pairs well.

All 5 of these stars were earned by the potatoes au gratin. You can tell the quality of a place when they can do a simple dish in a traditional way that still stands out as unique. Worth the hype. The rentable rooms upstairs are elegant with full on fireplaces, and the downstairs bar and restaurant are great.

Wonderful atmosphere. Food is (of course) good. Service was particularly impressive. Fine dining, but not "snooty".

Large space and sometimes boisterous but the food and service is at a much higher standard than you are likely to find elsewhere. Certainly a top choice, if not the top choice, along the CT coast.
