Mecha Noodle Bar

Absolutely phenomenal! Hands down one of the best places to eat in Connecticut. I am amazed by the quality and consistency of how great the food is. If you haven’t eaten here yet you are missing out!

Went to Japan in 2007 and have been craving authentic ramen. This is the closest I will ever get! 4 stars because my first experience here was kind of a downer (I was a single patron and waited more than 30 minutes to be seated and then an additional 45 for food) but I gave it a second chance and my food came out much quicker. Love it!

Went here last weekend with a friend and, man, the place was packed but we only had to wait a few minutes for them to clear off a table, with only two other people in front of us. Atmosphere was casual and though the music was loud, it was in good taste. Ordered Thai Bubble Milk Tea (which I'm currently obsessed with) and the Pho Ga. Servings were big and everything was delicious. It's only my second time ever getting pho at Mecha Noodle. Aside from it being a little cramped, I had a good time and left a Raven doodle in the little notebook. :)

Mecha noodle bar’s biggest issue is their customer service/management. While their food is actually great, the way they treated me left a bad taste in my mouth. Last night, I went there for dinner with my father after work and my mom was going to meet us there. It was clearly after their dinner rush and we were the only people waiting for a table. The hostess refused to let us sit in the two open seats at the bar while we waited - instead offering to bring us a drink while we sat uncomfortably on stools by the front door in winter coats. We declined the offer. Two tables large enough for a party of 3 opened up not long after (and a table for two) and remained open for at least 10 minutes while they forced us to wait for the third member of our party before they would seat us, despite NO ONE ELSE waiting for a table. We could have easily sat down and put in our order or gotten appetizers and drinks. Instead, we walked out (right as my mom was walking up). I used to order takeout from Mecha, too, but will likely stop giving them my business. The food is good (not great) but if you want ramen from them, think about doing takeout instead of dining in because the only thing saltier than their broth will be you.
