Across from the historic New Haven Green, ZINC & Kitchen ZINC offer an innovative farm-to-table menu that celebrates our surrounding community. Sustainable food has been the focus of ZINC since opening our doors in 1999. Zinc is my favorite restaurant in New Haven - hands down. I frequently eat at Zinc with my wife, friends, and for work events. The menu has a wide range of options and the asian influenced flavors throughout are amazing. The cheese plate, duck nachos, steamed dumplings, and pork belly are some of my go-to appetizers. In terms of main dishes, I always order the chicken dish. Although I rarely order chicken when I am out to dinner, it is my standard order it at Zinc. The perfectly cooked chicken and the purple sticky rice paired with the lime vinaigrette is out of this world and I never get tired of it. On the rare occasions I stray from the chicken dish, I usually order the hangar steak, scallops, or one of the daily specials. I highly recommend Zinc to anyone looking for a fine dinning restaurant in New Haven.

Very disappointing! I had heard very good things about this restaurant so perhaps they just had an off-night, but the food was pretty terrible. We had the duck nachos to start and the tuna and steak for entrees. The nachos had very little duck on them, were sickly sweet, and greasy. The trend of greasy and sweet continued with the entrees. The tuna itself was too sweet but otherwise fine, but the greens that accompanied it were fried and dripping in oil and extremely salty. The steak was tough, too salty and also somehow sweet(?). Just really bad food all around. The best item by far was the free bits of bread to start. At this price point I expect way more, but even if this had been a $20 meal at some hole-in-the-wall I would have left very unhappy. Service was fine.

Zinc continues to be one of our favorite restaurants in Connecticut. We were there again last night for a birthday celebration and the first thing that happened was our server, Melanie, brought two glasses of sparkling wine to mark the occasion. By the way, Melanie was super nice and very knowledgeable about everything on the menu. Our appetizers and main courses were delicious. Beautifully presented and creative too. It was a wonderful dining experience and we look forward to coming back soon!

The atmosphere and Service were impeccable! The food was great! My opinion was that it was tops! My daughter said it was ok. So we split the rating in the middle.
