Frank Pepe Pizzeria Napoletana

Great crust , great cheese , and great sauce , all which make for a great cheese pizza. Add garlic to every pie for extra good flavour. They have a lot of different pizza options , but the regular is really the most outstanding. This place is worth the wait and worth trying if you are in New Haven. The pizza is simple , but delicious. The crust is crispy on the outside and a little doughy. The staff is friendly and efficient. Bring an empty stomach and eat a ton of pizza !

ALWAYS great pizza. Been going there for about 13 years and never had a bad one. The pepperoni is to die for. Always crowded but worth the wait. Coal fired pizza oven is close to 100 years old. If passing by on 91 or 95 you must stop by and try it. Competes with the best pizza anywhere.

I’m pretty sure there is nothing I could say about Pepe’s which hasn’t already been said but I’ll try. First, don’t let the line scare you, it’s worth the wait. Second, try the white clam Pizza, you won’t be disappointed. Lastly, burning the roof of your mouth on the hot Pizza is totally worth it.

Our waitress, Donna, really made our experience. She was so fun and hustled and we enjoyed talking to her! We traveled all the way from Brooklyn to get this pizza. It really was fabulous pizza and it’s incredible it comes out on these big sheet pans. The pizzas are huge we got a small and a medium for two and way too much. The Caesar salad was simple and delicious, and the cheap Chianti washed downtown the pizza perfectly!

Historic. Wonderful food. Coal ovens make crispy slightly charred flavor. It's cheesy tomatoey goodness! The clam pizza is awesome! Explains why they've been in business for such a long time!! If you don't like slightly charred foods don't eat there.
