Union Jack Fish & Chips LTD Port Colborne

It was ok. Nothing special. they forgot to put tartar sauce in the bag which really kinda let down the whole family. The fillets of haddock were pretty thin considering i know what the average haddock fillet looks like as i ran a fish and chip shop in toronto for years. The halibut was thicker and not dry seeming which was good. The fries arent very good. Maybe consider hand punching and peeling some russet potatoes? Coleslaw was good. Wait time was long and the restaurant was moderatly full so no reason for slow service. Prices are fine. No complaints. Pretty standard. The biggest thing that stood out to me is how out dated this place is and not very clean seeming. And how early they close especially on a friday and saturday. Atleast stay open long enough to serve a full dinner service. 7pm is too early to close. An extra hour is all it would take. All in all.. I may or may not go back and try it again.

The food was good to very good. The service was excellent. There was only one nearly clean table and the staff seemed under pressure on a Saturday dinner service. I think there were only 2 people doing the job of at least 4. Will be going again to see if this was just a off night.
