Mom Dukes Authentic Jamaican Cuisine

I tried this spot from a video suggestion on Tiktok. It did not disappoint! The oxtails were fall off the bone tender. The rice and peas were really good. The owner cares so much about quality she would not serve the plantains, because they were not fit to prepare. I greatly appreciated that. The vegetables were good. The restaurant itself was neat, clean and spacious. God willing, I will return either in spring or summer of 2026. Do yourself a flavor and go on through there!

Run, don’t walk, to this local treasure! I was in Port Colborne to pick up ceramics across the street at Forks Road and noticed this Jamaican restaurant- and we love Jamaican food! We had the bbq jerk chicken not overly spicy for my mild loving palate and the oxtail was recommended, rightly so! Everything was perfectly seasoned, fall off the bone tender, and so very delicious! The rice and beans was so savoury. The patties are very good- great spice but not too much. And the rum cake. Omg. It’s my favorite cake and this is a fantastic example of it. Moist and you can taste the rum! Thank you Mom Dukes for a taste of my favorite island home away from home.

Amazing authentic Jamaican cuisine, definitely the best in the area. She was also very personable and offered great customer service, we recommend and will definitely be back!

A great experience and comforting, home-cooked food. All delicious! We were 4 people and shared 3 dishes, curry goat, chicken stew, and oxtail, plus a portion of the wonderful rum cake. Even in its regular version, the dishes are abundant, although they also have the option of a large portion. Mom Dukes not only provides the spectacular taste of the dishes but also the excellent attention they gave us, explaining each dish in detail and suggesting which ones best suited our palate. First time trying Jamaican flavors, and the experience has been a 10/10.

Mom Dukes and her daughter are really friendly. We ordered take out. The regular portion is ample to share. The oxtail was really good and the BBQ Jerk chicken has a nice smoky flavor. The rum cake was so good too. It’s a nice family-run business with multiple food awards. I highly recommend that you stop by. I wish they were open on Sundays so I can get my ackee and dumpling for breakfast.
