We went to Union Hall because of the pictures we saw online of the leather couches and I was looking for a library style place where I could read and have a drink. This place is many places in one: a chill leather couch and book vibe with a bar, a bocci court area and then a downstairs which I didn’t visit. I loved the spicy margarita I had and appreciated the quiet atmosphere of the couch area, but it’s definitely a place for young people after a certain time, so if you’re looking for these vibes I recommend arriving very early.
Cool place. $5 tall boys. Underwhelming happy hour deals. Chill vibes. Music at a good volume so you can have a conversation. The bocce ball is a fun game to pick up and you can play here free.
Really fun bar, with bocce and stand up seemingly every night. Love the library feel with the leather accents and books. Big ole bar, with pretty great service. Good beer selection, which I'd stick with over cocktails here cocktails will take longer, could be a bit better IMO. Still a great weekend spot.
A cool spot to hang out with your friends, you can come here to relax and read some book, play games like balling or watch stand up comedy
Attractive ground floor furnishings, good variety on local beers. Didn’t have a cocktail, and they need to update their listings because they do NOT serve food at all. The “show” space is a tiiiny basement; if you want a seat, arrive we’ll before start time. Lastly- who the heck mixes bocci & alcohol??
On a Friday or Saturday, Union Hall is consistently crowded with a fun melange of college aged folks in going-out fits, a smattering of millennial professionals in business double casual, and people really excited to drunkenly stumble through what they think bocce is. Overall hotspot for nightlife in the area with a well-tended bar.
Sprawling barscape with spacious atmosphere with soft and hard seating options. Plenty of room to stand around. And bocce courts first come first serve!
Very spacious and welcoming those wings were fried hard and flavorful can't wait to go back. The bartender was great the manager was welcoming as well.
Loved having a couple of drinks here. The atmosphere was really great to sit at the bar and try some local ales, great intro to Park Slope!
Hands down my favorite bar in Brooklyn, if not all of NYC. I've had a lot of great memories here, and seen a lot of amazing shows downstairs. Other joints may have more expansive beer menus or complex "mixology programs," but nothing quite compares to settling into a big well-worn chair in the corner with a cold pint of Allagash, surrounded by tall shelves of musty books and old wood-paneled walls, to take in a panoramic view of the energetic crowd jockeying for position at the bar, the aging hipsters perfecting their bocce ball skills, and the casual meandering traffic of pedestrians outside as dusk settles over the city.
