Perfect place for a date night! It’s been a couple of years since we’ve been here and it’s just as amazing as it’s always been! The food is incredible, the drinks are delicious, and of course you can never go wrong with some live music! Also, the service is top notch! It was really busy in here when we went but that didn’t take away from the whole experience. They deserve every one of the 5 stars I’ve given them! Great job, Blue Chair!!
Look at photo from Over the top Restaurants and compare with The Blue Chair if they dare post. The blue chair had the Worst beni ever, more plate than food, no flavour. Price of food was overpriced Service was terrible, waitress has a rude attitude, no cutlery had to ask. Beni was terrible 2 egg beni on tiny tiny bread, no flavour. 3 poor pieces of fruit, 5 plain tiny tiny boiled potatoes. Total breakfast with soda and cranberry pop for two was $56.00 ?????? Pictures were satanic or dark warlock face with horns . Do not ask waitress her opinion on paintings or mention your opinion, she got upset. Very rude waitress never made eye contact. I will never recommend this place. I never left a tip. Go the the ON THE ROCKS at 118st and jasper for brunch on Sunday. The eggs beni is $8.00!!!!! and amazing. Not only great potatoes crispy but it was the beni sauce was amazing. The service was exceptional and the music great. Look at the beni picture we got from On The Rocks and see if it matches what you got. Hey blue chair, one !!!!! beni is not over $16.00 . Our meal at Over The Top Restaurant with fresh coffee unlimited was superb. Look at the photo I took at Over the Top Restaurant Stop!!!!! going to The Blue Chair with their high prices, terrible beni and poor service.!!!!!!!!
I've come here a couple of times. The breakfast menu was about average, a little overpriced for what it was and there was nothing special with what I tried. However, the dinner is way better. It's slightly pricey, but the flavours are amazing. The brisket is one of the most tender I've ever tried. The staff are all very friendly. I would definitely return for lunch or dinner. Parking: It was not busy when we went, so there was plenty of parking in the lot. However, it's not a large parking lot, so it could easily fill up during busier times.
Very lovely and homely place with a family friendly atmosphere, I worked here for a few months and enjoyed it very much as it is a staple in the community to me and I have gone here since I was a kid. However the front of house manager at the time I worked there seemed unprofessional to me and berated me for my appearance and way of being friendly with customers, as well as accused me of making up things I was dealing with that I needed sick days for which led to me losing my job. However the owner is great and the kitchen manager and staff at the time were too and I definitely recommend this place.
So I have been here a couple of times now and had pretty good food both times - service has been... fine. Couple things that hold me back from a more full-throated endorsement is the pricing. Like those personal nachos for 12 bucks were an OK deal, but then the 1-2 OZ side of guacamole was five bucks! which just leaves you feeling gouged. As for breakfast it was fine, but at 17 bucks that is running up against a lot of better breakfast places. Also being handed an envelope to tip the music is weird in a world where we are using cards or phones, if you aren’t carrying cash you feel like cheapskate.
Atmosphere is awesome! Same with the live music! And fantastic food. I accidentally left my satchel there on a Sunday, and they kepted it nice and safe till Monday when they opened.
Very disappointing, haven’t been here for about 5 years and is really bad, food is underwhelming and bland and very small portions! $24 for eggs Bennie with no flavour.. the waitress was probably the rudest server I have met in a while and in hindsight we should of walked out straight away. The kids breakfast was also tiny and the banana bread was slightly salty and pretty gross. The only part that was enjoyable was the 2 musicians they where fab. If you are the owner to this establishment I would highly recommend getting a new chef and finding a new waitress, they clearly have no passion in customer service or quality flavourful food. AVOID was a waste of $130

I had heard so many good things about this place. My first time. Arrived and found old torn chairs. Food was tasteless and overpriced. Server forgot the cutlery. Server was surly. Eggs Benedict is supposed to be served on, at least toasted, bread. This was untoasted schlop. Hollandaise was the worst ever. Two eggs with a teaspoon of sauce on each. Dish was supposed come with an avocado, roasted tomato and five different slices of fruit, as per website pics. What arrived was different than advertised. The grav lax and fried egg with the kaiser bun on their new menu which is not on their website was also ordered. The grav lax was thick normally, it's thinly sliced, it was a fillet, with bones, two fried burnt eggs and melted cheese, lettuce and tomato. Five little unseasoned soggy potatoes accompanied this dish for a garnish. Very disappointing. Moving on to decor, dated and old. Music was a heavenly harp, and that was the only good thing about the place. The artwork displayed has a satanic theme. Not everyone's taste, considering the clientele 60-70 year olds. I suspect the waitress is a newbie artist, as she took offence to a gentle critique of the satanic-themed artwork. She said, "You don't know who you're talking to. I'm biting my tongue. I'd suggest you take a closer look at the work before you say things." Then she dumped the debit machine on the table and never returned.
One of my favourite spots - great for a business lunch, family meal, or night on the town. I recently used them as venue for an office Christmas luncheon. It was easily our best Christmas party to date because we had the place nearly to ourselves for the afternoon, had amazing food and drinks, and everyone left feeling happy and uplifted. The egg nog creme brulee was sublime! I wish I could buy it by the tub - haha! The great thing about their menu is that it is a good fit for all types of diners gluten free, vegetarian, etc, and the quality meets the satisfaction of even very selective individuals! I'm celiac and have never been "glutened" here!
