A really fun and engaging experience. Far larger than it seems. The folks really make the most of the space, and have a lot of buildings with great actors who can answer pretty well any question you have with certainty. I was also impressed with the gift shop and large selection of authentic cuisine. If you have Ukrainian cultural heritage and are interested in learning more, or are simply interested in history, I would highly recommend the heritage village.

Excellent place to take the family. The food is good, the exhibits and staff are helpful and friendly. It is good for the kids to see how things have changed and how life was only a short time ago.

The absolute worst field trip I have ever experienced. The two women making Paska were amazing, kind, funny and interactive with the children. The man and woman running the horse drawn wagon were rude, disrespectful and just outright mean to the kids. The other two men who taught the kids about Pysanka and gave us the tour of the church were also horrible. They had no patience with the kids and got angry at them consistently throughout the field trip. They had no idea how long eight year old children can actually sit still and listen to them talk and then would get furious at them when they started fidgeting after being expected to listen to them talk for sometimes over 20 minutes straight. This doesn’t seem like a very long time for an adult but for anyone who has any experience working with children, it is unrealistic to expect young children to sit that long and do nothing but listen to an adult talk. The two men were not fun, were not animated and even the parents and teachers started to disengage and stop listening. The four adults should NOT be working with children or they should receive some training and become educated on how to teach and interact with kids. Or they should go and watch the women making Paska and how they interact and show kindness and warmth towards the children. The kids behaved perfectly for these kind women and it’s because they were fun and had the kids involved and doing something within 5 minutes. The staff seem to have forgotten that the children are their paying customers and that is how they are earning their income and the reason why they have a job. They have lost out entire family as customers and we will not recommend the Ukraine Village to any of our friends or family. Shame on you Ukraine Villlafe for treating our children so poorly.

The costumed interpreters were quite educational, though they did not volunteer their information. At times it was hard to find what questions they wanted to be asked to solicit more information, it would have been nice if they offered it. Some of the characters seemed to prefer not to interact at all. The tour of the locked buildings was the most fantastic, the guide who helped us through there has many stories and was quite edycational. Bring your own snacks and water bottles as the concession was quite limited and pricey.
