The Royal Alberta Museum is a gem in heart of Edmonton. The geology section is a real treasure, with stunning rock and gemstone specimens that make it hard to look away. The historical exhibits offer a deep dive into the city’s past, and the rotating exhibits keep things fresh with each visit. I also have a soft spot for the bug exhibits—safely contained, of course. And the gift shop? It’s the perfect place to end the visit, always full of unique finds.
The Royal Alberta Museum RAM is a fascinating and well-curated museum, offering a rich and engaging experience. The exhibits are beautifully presented, with interactive displays and a wealth of interesting information that really makes the history and culture come alive. However, it is a bit on the smaller side. With only two main exhibits, this isn’t the kind of place where you’ll be spending an entire day. You can easily walk through and enjoy the whole museum in about two hours. If you’re looking for a quick but interesting stop, RAM is definitely worth a visit!
Great museum. I like the temporary collection of Cambodia Angkor. And natural and human history sections are also very well displayed. Most of them are bonded with Alberta. That's kind of cool if you live here. Small cafe and nice gift shop. Easy access via public transportationnnFew activities that you can interact with while walking. That will give additional knowledge
The Royal Alberta Museum is an absolute gem! My family and I were blown away by the incredible exhibits and the sheer size of the museum. From the moment you enter, you're greeted with an impressive array of artifacts spanning various eras and cultures.nnThe Natural History Hall, with its stunning fossil displays, including a massive mammoth skeleton, was a highlight. The interactive exhibits make learning fun for both kids and adults. The museum's collection of Indigenous artifacts provides deep insights into Canada's rich Indigenous heritage.nnHistory buffs will love the Military and Government History section, with its vintage aircraft, military uniforms, and historical documents. Plus, entry is free for Canadian Armed Forces members and their families, which is a wonderful gesture of appreciation.nnOverall, the Royal Alberta Museum offers something for everyone. The staff are friendly and knowledgeable, and the facility is clean and well-maintained. This is a must-visit if you're in Edmonton!
If you've never gone it's worth the visit. Nice to do when the weather is not good. Parking is the hardest part. We parked at the library parkade. We saw it all in about 4 hrs. Enjoyed especially the rock room. The gift shop was pretty good!nNice restrooms and a little cafe as well. I'd go again!
