We arrived at check in time on a Friday and there was only one person at check in which took a long time. They would have known how many people were expected and could have had more staff. The room was like a freezer 15C when we arrived. Fortunately it was 22C outside so we opened the balcony doors to let in the warm air and turned the thermostat all the way up. The room never got above 20C the entire stay.nnThe rooms I saw my sister’s room as well were in a sad state with obvious water damage along the ceiling and walls, peeling wallpaper. We had 2 queen beds. One was hard as a rock, the other was comfortable, but there was only a sheet and a very thin blanket the weight of a thin flannel sheet on the bed and we froze the first night. The second night we took all the bedding from the second bed and added it to our bed and that was better.nThe washrooms were updated and the bathtub removed though the bathtub faucet remained!. In the stand up shower there was no place to put soap or shampoo other than the ground. This would be a dangerous situation for an elderly person!nNo creamers for the in-room coffee.nMy sister had to change her room when she arrived as it was full of wasps! Some dead on the ground and some in the window and wall. I saw the same situation in the hallway going to the gym.nThe gym was very small and fortunately I had it to myself. A small selection of cardio machines, a set of 2.5lb dumbbells and a couple of mats. The women’s washroom was locked as it was out of order.nBreakfast was very minimal but satisfactory: toast, eggs, mini waffles overdone, a choice of 2 cereals and apples. Yogurt and more fruit would have been nice.nIt was quiet and close to the highway which made getting around easy.nI would not recommend this hotel.
Place is old.nWater damage to the rooms can be seennYou can hear people as they walk up and down the hall.nThis place does not live up to the name.nRoom had a space heater due to the leaky sliding doors.nBathroom shower had hair from another visitor in it.nCable can be cut off by other rooms disconnecting it.nStaff was friendly and polite. They reflect a good staff working with aging equipment.nYou can hear everything in your neighbors rooms.
My experience was far from satisfactory.nnUpon arrival, the check-in process was frustrating. The front desk staff were not very polite and struggled with English, which made communication difficult. I had specifically requested an additional bunk bed in my booking comments for my one-bedroom suite, but it was not provided, I had to ask twice the front desk before they sent one, and the coils were coming out from it, hard to sleep on something like that.nnIn addition, the TV and refrigerator in the room were not functioning, which was quite disappointing. From 5 PM until midnight, there was significant noise from other guests running in the hallway and shouting. Despite my efforts to address this by calling the front desk, the noise continued, making it challenging to put my 2-year-old baby to sleep.nnFurthermore, the air conditioning vents were moldy, and we could not use the AC due to the unpleasant smell it emitted. When I inquired about switching rooms, I was informed that no other rooms were available.nnThe pillows were also quite uncomfortable, resembling rolled-up sheets rather than proper pillows. To add to my frustrations, I noticed several bugs in the curtains that I had to remove myself.nnLastly, after checking out, I received a notification from my bank indicating that the hotel had charged me again for another night. When I contacted the hotel, I was told they had forgotten to reverse the deposit.nnGiven these numerous issues, I can not recommend this hotel. I would appreciate a prompt reimbursement for my stay, as it did not meet expectations. Thank you for your attention to this matter.
Wasps in the bedroom and workout area; mold on the ceiling of the room and bathroom; a renovated shower that still had a bathtub faucet sticking out the wall; no heat solution - they gave us extra blankets and a price that is very high likely because it is on a nice lake. Avoid this property if you don't wish to become ill or stung or frozen. All issues were raised with the one staff member who was visible - the front desk attendant - but it took 10-15 minutes to wait for them, typically, because they would walk back with the many complaining customers - one at a time - to inspect the issue, nod their head, and do absolutely nothing else. Ramada by Wyndham should abandon this property if they want to maintain any level of respect for the brand. Yes, a refund was requested, but Ramada has not as yet responded. Goodwill is the only way to salvage the reputation of the brand, but not of this property.nnUpdate after owner response: Did anyone else notice how quickly the issues were brushed aside? Other than a refund for my stay, there is no way I could ever return or even raise my rating. No amount of spin marketing can help here. Owner: You have my name and know when I stayed there. Contact me directly.
I stay in multiple hotels across the province for work, I was given a room rate over the phone for my two night stay. Upon arrival I was told the rate was only for the first night, second night was going to be a different price. At this point it was already too late to find another hotel as it was late in the evening. When entering my room I quickly realized it was very cold, the patio door was left wide open, after closing the door I tried to turn the heat on. It was ineffective as there was no heat source in the room, I called down for more blankets and I was told they were too busy to get me more blankets in my room. After this experience I will never return to this establishment and I do not recommend any one to stay there especially for their outrageous room rates for a less than par hotel. You’d have better luck stay at the motels on the other end of town 1/2 the price and 2x the quality and service
