Toonie's Fish & Steak House

We are here for breakfast. It was pretty busy and the wait staff was a bit over worked and as a result fairly slow, and not very friendly. But this is not a good indication of the restaurant, so I gave 4 stars because the menu was decent and the food was good and the prices were reasonable. Toonie's is a typical breakfast joint - don't expect anything amazing and you won't be disappointed. If we're ever back in the area, we'll likely go back. And we'll probably try the lunch menu then.

First and foremost food: Amazing steak and fish, better than I expected! Hours after eating I could still taste the flavor! Service: Let me first say this is a busy smaller sit-down restaurant that stays busy. That said they could use another server. The wait was reasonable for as busy as they were. Atmosphere: Not a place for casual conversation, this place is loud and busy and you sit close to other tables. Bottom line, I will be back!

I ended up coming here 3 times on my trip Up North this year. All 3 times I ordered the Bourbon Street Steak. Awesome steak. Delicious every time. It comes with Bread that is excellent. One meal I got French Onion Soup that was good. The other two visits I got a salad that was large and very fresh. All 3 visits I got Mashed Potatoes that were excellent. The Last visit I got a piece of Chocolate Cake to go, it was an excellent piece of cake. Also on the Last Visit I ate with a friend that had the Perch Sandwich. He stated it was excellent. The Service was excellent. Overall 4.5 Stars. Since I have to round I'll round up. I will be back next year.

Great food. Wide menu & beverage choices including local craft beer & wines and friendly, efficient service. Easy to find & right across the street from Shorts Brewery! Convenient!

A great Friday fish fry. Nice bread and good service. Get there before 5pm to ensure no wait time!
