Welcome to the Iron Skillet Restaurant in Mancelona, Michigan! We serve home cooked food that’s always made from scratch for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. We tenderize our own corned beef hash, and people come from all around to try our home smoked brisket. If you have the appetite for it, rise up to the challenge and try the Loco Burrito. It's huge! If you finish it in 45 minutes, we'll give you a t-shirt!

The Iron Skillet isn't just a name, it's a homage to our town's Ironworks past and reminder of the hardworking people of this community. During the winter months, we're a favorite gathering place for snowmobilers coming through our community. We proudly support snowmobilers and welcome you into our restaurant. Parking is not a problem; there is more than ample room to park your sleds or cars here while you eat.

Whether you're a Mancelona local or just passing through town, come see us soon, and enjoy a delicious meal. Call ahead if you have a large group or are short on time. We will accommodate you!

After having a bad experience with the wait staff earlier this summer, I returned as I usually do and am so happy to say that the service has made a complete turn around! The two girls that were in on the Sunday morning me and my family came were absolutely wonderful. They were kind and funny and down to earth and I'm so glad! Because the food is so good I, honestly, would have continued to return even if the wait staff bit me every time I spoke but I am so happy to see that the wait staff not only live up to the quality of the restaurant but improve on it!

The food here was great. I had a brisket sandwich. It was brisket, BBQ sauce, bacon, and onion rings on a Pretzel bun. Served with chips and a deep fried pickle. Best lunch I had all week. The rest of the menu looked very good as well

They've got a decent atmosphere, but bring a jacket because is freezing there! Prices are decent, for an appetizer, two meals, a side and two desserts we only spent $60. Also, there are no alcoholic beverages. As for the food the meat is fantastic, but the fried pickles are done really weird (spears instead of chips) and they're not very good, the Mac&Cheese is elementary school cafeteria quality and the desserts are just ok. The waitress we had must have been new because she didn't seem to know what she was doing at all. I can't really say I'd go back, but it's perfect for teenagers looking to have a nice affordable date.

I used to LOVE this place, but my last several visits have been disappointing. On my first visit about 2 years ago I ordered the best deep fried mushrooms I have EVER had in my life. The service, in my experience, has been pretty great and there's a pretty big variety to choose from on the menu...BUT, the last three times I've been there (each time I ordered something different), the food has been very mediocre and for the first time, my after dinner cookie (a no bake) was really bad. In the past their homemade goodies have been excellent. I ordered the chicken strips basket tonight and they were so hard around the edges that I had to cut those parts off...not to mention they weren't anything special to begin with. The cole slaw that I usually love had zero flavor and seemed like it may be old (not spoiled, just limp and without seasoning). So, what's going on, Iron Skillet? I suppose I have pretty high expectations, but you used to exceed them! It's getting to the point that I may have to go somewhere else...I'd much rather go back to being delighted by everything you make.
