I purchased groceries from this store on September 16. Among the items, I bought two steaks labeled with a best-before date of September 23. However, when I arrived home and opened the package to prepare them, the meat had a strong foul odor, a slimy texture, and an unpleasant vinegar-like smell. For safety reasons, I had to dispose of it immediately.nnThis raises serious concerns about how meat is handled and stored at this location. I regularly shop at Costco, Walmart, and No Frills on Eglinton and have never experienced an issue like this. Unfortunately, based on this experience, I do not feel confident purchasing meat from this store again, as it poses potential health risks to customers.nnI strongly recommend that management review their handling and quality control processes to ensure customer safety.
I gave two stars because not everything is rotten or expired, ever since Ryan took over the store, things got moved around to like the other side of the store, meat and veg are left to rot on the shelf’s and is generally gross. I have always looked at this no frills as like a super continence store rather than a proper grocery store because they don’t sell a lot of stuff, for instance they don’t sell gelatine. If you are looking for more specialty items go somewhere else they have the basics here and that’s about it. Oh yeah and a lot of rotten fruit and veg on the shelf’s make sure you check it thoroughly before you buy it. Ryan you need to stop forcing employees to leave rotten food on the shelf’s. I also saw the Arizona ice tea car at AJPC last year, thought it was odd. Prices at this store are generally more expensive than the store at Eglinton. Eglinton also doesn’t leave rotten food on the shelf.
Super small place and does not have all the things you wish to buy. Fresh cut flowers are always nice, but items aren't always fresh. We found a bag of bread on the shelf has lots of mold and they are still selling it last year and this year we saw a box of icecream bars, all 6 bars were melted to liquid when the box was in the store's fridge. Expensive compare to food basic.
Horrible experience on September 8th! The store was a mess, with holes in the shelves for advertised items on the flyer. The tuna on sale was not available at the advertised price, and when I pointed it out, the cashier seemed clueless. She kept turning pages on the flyer claiming that it could be a deal in another store, while I literally held up the digital flyer on my phone. And I had to point out the deal on one of her pages which she frustratedly kept flipping. Then the grocery department was paged thrice while I waited after cashing out and not one of them cared to show up at customer service.nWhat made matters worse was the lack of assistance on the sales floor. The grocery staff were chatting amongst themselves while sipping coffee, making it difficult to know who was a staff member and who wasn't, as they didn't wear uniforms or name tags. When I needed help, I had to wait forever at the front end, and even got sent to different cashiers multiple times.nThe butter on sale was also missing from the cooler, and I had to wait again for a rain check which wasn’t issue. Instead the cashier paged the dairy section, and one of the staff brings out the butter from the back. Four hours into the store opening, it’s appalling that display coolers remain empty.nThe staff's attitude was discourteous and unhelpful. It's clear they need to work on their customer service, inventory management, and staff visibility.
Good prices on packaged products, but half their produce is rotting. Even their bagged salads with best before dates over a week in the future often have the lettuce all pink. I'm guessing there's a handling/ refridgeration issue.
