Breakfast OMG the queue in the morning is huge! We had a breakfast everyday at Wildflower and if you don't take buffet then it will take forever to get your food. We selected a la carte egg Benedicts and we waited 40 minutes for the food and our food came before coffee. Food is delicious by the way, but service was way off. Also waitress try to charge us for buffet even we took a la carte and our dishes was cheaper than flat buffet price. Following morning we took avocado toast and french toast both were good. Dinner Maybe because this was our breakfast place we didn't felt any ambience for our 6th wedding anniversary. Also we noticed that we were way overdressed and people came very casually dressed. They didn't care for our wedding anniversary even we told hostess and waiter... I wish we chose other restaurant for our big dinner. My husband took lamb loin and it was pretty good. I chose seafood chowder was good, but lack of presentation whatever green oil was on top looked messy. My elk tar tar was excellent and I think it was best dish lol. No desserts because everything looked very heavy and not appealing. I saw desserts on other peoples tables..
Dined in several times at this restaurant and our recent experience was the best by far! Everything that we ordered were very flavourful and plated very nicely. I highly recommend any of their lamb dishes and we also always opt in for their special and it never disappoints. A must try restaurant in Whistler!Food: 5/5
There breakfast buffet is delicious . Lots of verity. The omelet line up can be long at times . Seating area is good and comfortable . There sometimes be a lineup to get inside and sometimes fully booked so reservations i good idea especially on a weekend or holidays .Food: 5/5
The food and atmosphere are great! We went twice once got the buffet and once ordered from the menu. They were both great. Only the staff sometimes weren’t as welcoming. We went for breakfast at 9:45 and didn’t know it ends at 10:30. No body told us either. So we took our time with coffee and some fruit and suddenly were informed that the restaurant is closed. When asked when the restaurant is going to close one of the staff replied 10min ago with a sarcastic tone. I would recommend training the staff better and hiring the ones that really enjoy the job than the ones that are there to pay the bills.
Wonderful experience with the 3-course Fall dining special. We were seated in Markus' section and he was an amazing server! Really down to earth but professional. They were able to accommodate our vegan diet. The food was delicious and we couldn't make it thru the main course!Food: 5/5
Food was worst ever of hotel restaurants. Server didn't mention anything While We been waiting food more than 40min. AT the first time We trying to understand because we can see they are looks so busy by some big group..but After serving food. Steak and all food was too dry and cold Vegetables garnish was too salty. Braising Lamb was chewe like jerky. Gnocchi has sour by unfresh stuff. It was quite shocking for us . We was asking more red wine jul sauce for dry steak ,but they bring Waterly non flavor braising sauce... It was disappointed
Wonderful restaurant with awesome service! Love their buffet breakfast! Dinner is also not bad. Sitting beside the windows you can see snow and their beautiful garden. Host and server are all well trained and nice. You can see they are happy and love their job. Great place to go if you are in town. Will definitely come back.
Good afternoon, I wanted to take a moment and express how bad of an experience we had last night. We’ve stayed in the hotels several times and I’ve never encountered or had such a bad experience ,ever. Then I had planned for or a beautiful dinner at the wildflower. I should have known it was going to less than pleasant right from the start. The lady working the hostess table a manager I believe, tall brunette was very unpleasant and frankly looked like she didn’t want to be there. We then got seated nice 4 person table as we had friends surprise us. The waiter started off fairly decent might want learn the feature menu a bit better. We ordered 3 margaritas and 1 mule. This seemed to be a tough task . I might add there was probably 30 patrons in the entire restaurant. It took 13 minutes to get drinks. To be honest they were not good. Bartender could probably use some assistance. We then ordered some appies and mains . My wife ordered a steak well done her preference, and I had scallops and short ribs. My scallops came out and they were really good. Then the mains our friends ordered another steak medium and short ribs as well. The meals came out and we started eating and the minute we cut into my wife’s steak it was cooked medium/rare. We called the waiter over who was shocked and said hold on he will fix it. Unfortunately after 7 minutes the rest of us started to eat . The steak came back out 12 minutes later. We fully ate and my wife ate pretty much by herself. Not even an apology from anyone the female tall brunette brought it back out. Our minds were blown. But wait , it gets worse. We sat for quite some time without drinks as the waiter felt better talking to his colleagues rather than servicing customers. We quickly decided to try and get out asap fast as possible. We asked for the bills , we split amongst the two couples. My mind was completely blown away when I saw the full amount of my wife’s steak still on the bill. Any other restaurant would have fully removed this entirely from the bill or at minimum discounted the issue. This is supposed to be a high end restaurant. The chef can’t even cook a steak? I won’t even get started on the service at the mallard. The waiter was brutal. Please feel free to ask the bartender how many people complained. I’m a frequent customer at other fairmonts but I’ve never had such poor service , ever! Please speak to all parties and educate them on customer service. Crazy. I expect way better service especially after spending $1000 at the same building throughout the day. I certainly hope someone from the fairmont would contact me this week.
A must visit if you are going to be in Whistler! The food was a amazing and the 3 course menu was such a good deal! The Bison Tartare made taste buds excited for the main course! The braised beef brisket which was the main course was done to perfection and the truffle mash potatoes, to die for! Finished dinner off with the raspberry cake and I was completely content and satisfied!!!
I was super glad to know The Wildflower has resumed buffet breakfast! Went there last month and after over a year of no buffets, this was a great opening to my cravings. Great choice of food, although not as varied and plentiful as other hotel buffets I see in Asia generally. But for Canada standard, this is pretty good. Came with live omelette station and ham carving station, that the same chef attended to. Didn’t get to eat all the pastry but I ate pretty much the rest of the food. There’s smoked salmon, egg Benedict, hash browns/potatoes, fruits oats, etc. The berries smoothie was so good! I wished it came with validated parking though, as we did pay over $80 for breakfast there after all.
