This place is absolutely a hidden gem with thoughtful and attentive staff, live music, and AMAZING food! I made reservations online for my partner and I to celebrate her getting a new job, and added a note there about the occasion. Jennifer, our friendly and hilarious server, greeted us immediately with a congratulations and when we ordered dessert it came all decked out with a candle in it! Coupled with The Allegro Music Trio rocking out and taking our requests, it was the perfect evening!
The atmosphere was great and there's a little dance floor in the middle with a DJ playing music so you get into the groove after a sumptuous dinner. However, the music playlist wasn't to great. We lost our momentum because of the lousy music choices of the DJ. As for the food, the steak wasn't really the best. We were a large group when we dined so probably it could be a factor why the steak wasn't very tasty and very dry. The salmon on the other hand was good.
Came again for the regular menu. Tried the New York Strip served on a hotplate. It was a fusion style food, with a Japanese sauce. It was delicious. It was super hot this time. Price was very reasonable and service was good as well. -------------- Came here for the Dineout menu. Food was good in general. If it could be a tad hotter, especially the soup, it would even better. Service was excellent. Would definitely repeat, especially the happy hour menu. Entrance through the hotel lobby. Use the hotel parking where you can register in the hotel front desk without paying. Parking: Hotel parkade with registration at the hotel lobby front desk.
The restaurant has a band in the evening. I have a reservation for 7:30. The waiters seemed very busy. Three of them saw me standing at the door and asked me to wait. I am waiting for ten minutes, but there were only a few tables in the restaurant. The food is not bad. Hope to improve the quality of service
Had the pleasure of taking my parents here to celebrate mum's birthday tonight and we had a lovely dinner. Parking was easy and since it was underground and had direct walking access from parking to the Wild Fig Restaurant we didn't have to walk out in the cold. You write your license plate down at the front desk inside and can park for free when dining at the restaurant. The seating environment was grand and peaceful and we were seated by the fireplace. We were served by a very kind and thoughtful gentleman named Isham, who also prepared our fruity and delicious mocktails! We learned also that we had visited after a two year closure and recent reopening just on December 1 with a new chef, Paolo, and an updated menu. We had been here before and enjoyed the food, service, and seating environment and can say we left happy once again! I particularly enjoyed the tasty beets in my colourful 'wild fig salad', and the aromatically roasted brussel sprouts and creamy mashed potatoes in my lamb shank. The shoestring fries were also a big hit with both me and the parents and were fried to perfection. The curb to a French fry craving we needed! Thank you to the staff who wished mum a happy birthday, prepared a little birthday dessert and sang to her with enthusiasm as well! I captured a beautiful moment of her big surprised smile for years to cherish but to her wishes agreed to blur out her face in the photo to respect her privacy . Thanks Wild Fig and those who helped make tonight a special birthday for mum and an enjoyable evening for us.
Just went there for some snacks and drinks an hour before they close. I had the quesadillas which were alright. Also, we had white wine which our server helped us pick. Tried their couple of desserts as well which were decent. Overall, it was a pleasant experience with such a friendly staff!Food: 3/5
We had a very lovely experience. Our server, Gaga, was amazing - great service and great personality. Food was delicious and generous portions. Also the atmosphere was very nice.
Happy hour was happy with beer, nachos, calamari, wings, great burgers recommended. We were disappointed to find there were no oysters we have been looking forward to as we saw on the menu. We had a great evening and enjoyed the food regardless. We were celebrating 2 birthdays. The slices of cheesecake for the birthday girls were a sweet touch. Thank you Jennifer. Keep up the good work. Thanks for adding to making an enjoyable and relaxed evening. Best wishes to you. I recall it was even nicer once we dined in and there was live entertainment. It may be only weekends... will need to find out for next time.
Went there for Dine Out and had the fixed menu. We were really disappointed in the quality of food and service. The first course were three frozen store bought meatballs in a marinara sauce with a single cracker. You can tell these were frozen meatballs because of the texture on the inside and the taste. There was nothing fresh about them. The pear salad was fine and was a good size serving. The second course was the steak which was only cooked medium rare and came with a generous portion of potatoes. The steak was cooked appropriately but the potatoes were oily. The third course was dessert and the only thing edible was the store bought ice cream. The cheesecake was encased in a “fried” dough which wasn’t heated up, which made it impossible to cut or even chew. The chocolate cake was also not warmed up, and the flavour was flat and texture was off. Our server checked on us once throughout the 90 minute meal. We had to reminder her to bring us cutlery. The busser girl was working hard clearing plates while the server danced around to the music. Save your money for dine-out and go to a restaurant that uses fresh ingredients and has some passion and professionalism in the kitchen.
We had a fantastic dinner at the Wild Fig tonight. It was my birthday and our server, Jennifer, was amazing. The food was delicious! But the singer, Mark Cartel, turned my birthday dinner into a birthday party! Thanks for a great night and on Christmas Eve!
