run- don’t walk- to this amazing new store! lots of unfamiliar plant-based products. we tried the cold cut beef and frozen crab cakes, and they were phenomenal. excited to try their other cold-cuts and products.
This is exactly what I was hoping to find during my trip to Vancouver! A REAL vegan breakfast! It was melt in your mouth delicious and worth every dime! The Vegetarian Butcher is a must if you get the chance!
great if you aren’t gluten free. the gf bread is wet like play dough and the gal making my sandwich put two thumbs through it trying to stick a “thank you” sticker on it. Had to eat on a plate with a fork, wasn’t even a sandwich.
The vegan kung pao chicken there is outrageous. Also they're one of the few that carrry the Impossible Burger as of early 2021. Nice staff and a wide selection of alternative meats and dairy. I just wish they were up in Squamish.
This place is amazing! Make sure to get their homemade "chicken", "steak", and "ribs". Tastes just like real meat but it's all vegan! And Save da Sea smoked salmon will shock you with how much thin slices of carrots can taste like smoked salmon!! I also tried their Valentine's charcuterie board and I was floored with how good it was!! I hope they offer it more than just for special occasions because I would definitely get that again...
Brand new and well worth the visit! The deli style vegan meats are really tasty and they have a good selection of vegan groceries. Prices are reasonable and staff were lovely. I’ll be back to try the ready made breakfast sandwiches! Thanks for opening in the neighborhood!
I'm so glad this place exists! I go almost every week now for their breakfast sausage sandwiches and it's my favourite place to go for vegan groceries! The staff are so friendly and so nice and they have a wide variety of foods which they keep adding to every week! Would definitely recommend this place to vegans and non-vegans!
From the name to the game,It is an interesting business & smart location ! I bought veggies Donair today . It is very delicious . Highly recommended. I'm looking to try their "Toona" soon. Hope it will be the same. Keep going. See you soon.
This place is extremely overpriced for everything. A large deli meat dish maybe two servings is $30 and has the same quality as Gardien or Yves. Their salads are expensive too for what seems to be tofu or chickpea-based, both generally inexpensive ingredients. Everything was very salty and I was thirsty all night. I wish this place made plant-based more accessible but when you have plant meat three times the price as real meat, only vegans with a lot of disposable income will eat here. Veg-curios probably wouldn't return.
The staff here are very friendly and I admire their vision. I'm always grateful for new plant-based businesses. I would normally give three stars based on my purchase but I don't want to bring their rating down, just wanted to provide a bit of feedback. The BLT wrap had good flavors but it was odd to eat the "bacon" cold and soft. I would have preferred a different texture on the "bacon" but it had a nice smoky flavor. The potato salad was really heavy on the onions, like really heavy on the onions. I'm sure it's a matter of preference but I'd rather mine be more dill-forward than raw onion-y. If you soak onions in cold water for even ten minutes it takes away the potency and then the raw onion flavor doesn't overtake everything else as much. The toona is a nice spread on toast, I really enjoyed it, but is in no way reminiscent of tuna. it needs to taste a bit more like sea. Again, heavy on the raw onion. I'm actually still tasting onion as I type this. The n'egg salad was my favorite, although a bit of turmeric would give it a more authentic coloring. A pinch of kala namak black salt from my pantry made it basically identical to egg salad. Their prices for some prepackaged items like cheese shreds are quite a bit more than other stores, even more expensive than Whole Foods. I didn't buy anything like that here because I stock up at Superstore for about $6.50 a bag instead of $8.99. I love what this store is about and if I'm nearby in the future I'll try out a few other things for sure, especially the n'egg salad again. Welcome to Vancouver guys!
