If there was a 0 I’d have provided that rating. I needed a place to stay for a medical appointment. I called and was booked their last room. Great, I felt so thankful! Not! Got there and the toilet was disgusting, meaning seriously, I’m glad my husband checked. The soil that was left there must’ve been there for a while. We left and they offered to clean it, no thank you. They refunded my $$$ thankfully it only took us 10 minutes to park, check in and realize the room was dirty. Not a great area and not very safe, in my opinion.
Frankly I'm puzzled by the 3.7 rating. We arrived here for an overnight stay on our way to the coast with our kids. Room is great. Pool area was awesome. The staff were super nice. No complaints.
The hotel was allocated to us as part of our Rocky Mountaineer trip from Banff to Vancouver. After being bused from the rail terminal we received a warm welcome from the staff upon arrival at the hotel, and this greeting was repeated through our stay every time we passed through reception. It's a fairly short walk into town and then just a bit further to the very nice Riverside Park. Although we didn't go into the onsite restaurant, it appeared popular as it was quite busy. There are also a number of different eateries within a very short walking distance. Our room overlooked the rail yard where there were trains coming through, however, this didn't overly disturb us.
Stayed for 3 nights. In a room that looked out onto the roof with large and loud industrial sized fans. Fridge froze half the food and when we pulled things out they were so wet they dripped water everywhere. Tub drained so slow you were ankle deep in water during a shower. Beds were uncomfortable. We left at 6:30am and came back to the room at 2:30pm, the cleaners had cleaned the room and they left the door propped open with the top locking mechanism, luckily nothing was stolen. Staff were nice, but they offered no solutions to the issues. For $200 a night I'd expect a semi-comfortable bed. Rough part of town, empty beer cans amd cigarettes littered the parking lot. I didn't choose this hotel, it was a booking for a sports team and I'll never stay again.
Decent Stay for a Quick StopovernnI recently stayed at this hotel in a small Canadian town. It's a decent place, nothing exceptional, but it will get the job done if you need a quick place to stay. The sounds of traffic from the busy town outside are noticeable, so if you're a light sleeper, you might want to bring earplugs.nnThere are several bars located nearby, which could be a plus or a minus depending on your drinking habits and noise tolerance. Unfortunately, I didn't get a chance to try out the pool or hot tub, but having them onsite is a nice perk.nnOne downside was the shower; the water pressure was sporadic, and it made a whining, whistling noise. This could use some improvement.nnOverall, it's a functional option for a short stay, with some conveniences and a few areas that could be improved.
