The Sydney is a new hotel located on Martha's Vineyard. It is right in the heart of lovely Edgartown and walking distance to fabulous dining and shopping.

Story

Formerly known as The Fallon, this unique Edgartown inn was renamed The Sydney in early 2015.

The name "Sydney" means "wide island south of the water" -- an ideal description of Martha's Vineyard. Our boutique Edgartown hotel is a small but distinctive fixture in central Edgartown -- a magnificent Victorian home built in 1892 by Captain Charles W. Fisher, with an intact lawn and lovely architectural details.

That's why we call The Sydney a "small jewel on a wide isle." It's petite, chic and perfectly located.

The Sydney is a rad bar in Benson, with an awesome "mom" bartender as she called herself taking care of everyone! They have a great beer selection, cheap shots (2 dollar Sake shots) and its a cool bar to hang in! I played a show there last night and Adam who did sound did a killer job, and they even had a screen for my projector so I didn't have to bring in my own! Bathrooms were good, little outdoor back patio for smokers, and after the concert stopped it went into Karaoke and you know we had to stay around for a song or two of that! All in all great bar, great staff, and a fun night!

Great base for exploring Edgartown, relaxed setting and convenient check in /check out process. Staff ultra helpful when we left some things behind and pro actively contacted us and mailed them to us. Recommended

The hotel is old, lovely, and located nicely for walking around town. Our room was fine, however, the bathroom was totally inadequate. When you opened the door you could walk only two and a half feet before you hit the shower ahead of you, and the sink was on the right and was up against your side. The toilet was a few inches on the left. The total bathroom floor space, not covered by the toilet and sink, was 2 1/2 by 2 1/2 feet. There was only one chair in the room, leaving a second person to sit on the bed. Most disappointing was the lack of any kind of a coffee maker in the room or in the lobby. We were there for four days, and never saw a manager. There was no one to ask about restaurants, things to do or see, or provide any other answers to questions that we had.
