Story

The South African Store was established in central Toronto in January 2007 to meet the increase in demand for South African food products in the Greater Toronto Area. Thanks to the support of the South African community, the store quickly grew and became well known. Today, South African Store proudly caters to the grocery needs of South Africans not only in the Toronto area, but all across Canada. We are proud to have gained the trust and recognition of our customers in such a short period of time and will strive to only better serve the South African community in the future.

How amazing is this that you can get great quality South African products locally. They have sourced out the best stuff and have really friendly staff. As a non-South African, I was so impressed with the products here that I have had to come back regularly to keep trying new things.
Amazing service! The gentlemam who worked here was friendly and helpful! An all around good experience! Plus I got South African treats, and you can never go wrong there!
Walking into this shop I was reminded of the empty shelves I saw in Zimbabwe about a decade ago. No offence but these guys need to have a store that is fully stacked with products. Maybe they are under economic sanctions like the aforementioned country
I just bought chilli bites biltong from the store and it tastes sooo BAD. The biltong is wet and tastes like there's soapy water in it. I believe there is another South African store in Thornhill. They have better tasting biltong. Would not recommend
We traveled to SA a few years and got hooked to a few snacks and chocolates there. This place has limited options, but great to be able to find some of those items. Price is higher than what we paid in SA, but that's ok since we're not doing the long and expensive trip.
Great selection of South African favourites. Good parking. Easy access.
I bought my achaar and corn meal from them the best not forgetting the Wors!

It's a very small shop with some good old south african stuff but not a great variety and it's quite expensive not sure a whole lot in there you cant do without
