The Oxford Saloon

This is a very unique place having a diner and a bar in the same open room. It also has some very old guns behind the bar, which is really cool and neat to look at. As far as the food, it is excellent the eggs tasted great along with the burger, and Gravy. The Oxford has great customer service is reasonably priced and has a little bit of a sh!t show going on. Kid-friendliness: This is not kid friendly.

After striking out at a couple other places in Downtown Missoula for brunch, my wife and I visited the Oxford on Sunday, Oct. 16, 2022. We were just looking for a place to eat but we ended up getting an experience as well. We sat at the kitchen bar that overlooks the grill. We got to watch the cook prepare meal after meal on a busy Sunday and it was so cool to watch him handle the volume with such talent! It was like hibachi but American style. The single server who was working did such a good job keeping up with the pandemonium. It is old and dark inside the restaurant but it just adds to the atmosphere. Our food was pretty good. I got the sausage and cheddar omelette and my wife ordered the famous chicken fried steak. Both dishes came with hash browns and toast. The best part? Everything is so cheap! The total for our brunch was $22. When you visit the Oxford—and you can visit it anytime you want because it is open 24/7/365—you don’t just get good food but you also get superb service, inexpensive prices, and a whole lot of culture. We will definitely return when we visit Missoula.

Loved the history of this place so chose to eat here on our way though town ...Super intertainting Angry Cook at 1030pm on Wednesday night... not busy at all.... food was fine... no refills and worried to ask for ranch for the tenders lol... didn't want to make him more upset... 2 other employees trying to keep their distance n not being helpful what so ever! Still totally worth the stop if ur not looking for fancy... if ever back in town will try it again ;

Very good! Naked dude at Jerry Johnson's hot spring told me to come here and get the chicken fried steak with JJ's gravy on the hash browns. Good advice!

Stopped by after seeing this sidewalk sign for $20 Ribeye steaks. Turns out this will be the end to $20 Ribeye steaks due to the price of beef now. - Had a great experience here with the great service and Vince, Mr. Big, the cook.

What a unique place. Love the setting of this Cafe. Very good menu, and what I ate, scrambled eggs, hashbrowns, bacon, sourdough toast, sausage cream gravy. So happy I found this place.

Good for and decent prices. Like everywhere, they were understaffed so service was slower than desired, but did was good and the chef worked hard to satisfy all the customers.

It’s breakfast time and this diner/bar is walking distance from the AC hotel. Searched a bit on Google and saw pictures of the chicken fried steak so my mind was made up. I love CFS and this did not disappoint. Big portion of chicken, hash browns and two eggs over-easy with a side of JJs spicy gravy. It was on Tuesday morning and there were only 5 other customers so service was fast. I Sat down and was immediately greeted and I ordered right away. Coffee and water came first, quickly, followed within a few short minutes by my delicious breakfast. I’ll be back again tomorrow to try one of the other options.

In my opinion, the BEST breakfast offered in Missoula with the JJ's...?? spicy gravy over a chicken fried steak, hash browns eggs & a Caesar. On weekends, I think this is the only place that serves good food 24 hours & the video poker machines seem to pay out well.

Food is really good, but other than that... Wait time is insane, short staffed, so patience is needed when you go in there. Food is worth it though if you're willing to wait.Food: 5/5
