Most poorly-managed building I’ve ever seen. They don’t vet their tenants properly, people frequently trash the common areas, have parties, and make excessive noise all hours of the night. Careless dog owners let their pets urinate in the elevators and don’t clean up after their pets. Hallways frequently smell of weed even in a so-called “non-smoking” building and ventilation system in hallways will blow 2nd hand smoke right into your unit. Gym is always full and too small given the size of the building. Management does ZERO enforcement of any of the rules and tenants pretty much get away with whatever they want. Let’s just say I’ve been in quieter frat houses…Parking situation is a mess with tenants using visitor parking stalls to avoid paying for a stall, so having visitors over is a challenge. Again, management say they’ll tow but realistically nothing ever ends up happening. Electricity is billed through a third party US company mandatory with mysterious surcharges. Location is very convenient but frankly it’s not worth the chaos and noise, consider renting elsewhere in Beltline.
I have lived at the Met for about 3 months now and I'm in love with the building and staff. I bought everything when I moved in and that meant a lot of cardboard and the maintenance guy took care of all of it. I needed to get curtains put up and a tv on my wall in the bedroom and they were happy to get it all done for me at no cost. I love that you can pay your rent on line with a credit card even better if your doing it for points. The staff from the beginning when was showed my option to the leasing and everything in between was just amazing. Great amenities as I have a charge port in my parking stall for my car and so many more amenities. I'm hopping to stay there for at lease 2 years since everything is all walking distance. You dont have to leave a 2 block radius to get all the amenities you need. You wont be disappointed by the building, certainly not the staff and the amenities will blow you away. This is what i was able to turn my cute two bedroom two bathroom into.
I would not recommend moving to The Metropolitan to anyone. Where do I begin? People let their dogs use the hallways and elevators as bathrooms. People are inconsiderate and leave a mess in the common areas. For a 400+ unit building, the gym is small and is busy from 6AM-11PM. Despite signing a 30+ page lease that has a non-smoking addendum, people will smoke and stink up your unit. People will also get hammered on a random Tuesday and yell on their balcony a 2AM. Bottom line: Andrea, the property manager, will do nothing to enforce any sort of rule and the leasing office staff don't seem to do a good job at vetting tenants either so living at The Met feels like living in a college dorm. The only good thing I can say about The Met is that the location is convenient as you're in between 17th Ave and Kensington.
I have lived at the Metropolitan for the 6 months and love it. My puppy loves all the other animals here and the people are so friendly ! The leasing office staff are great . The property manager helped me after hours when I had an issue with my fobs. I love how everything is walking distance. I highly recommend The Met
I lived at The Met for about 6 months when I first moved to Calgary. I was able to talk to the rental office and sign the lease remotely. I found the folks at the rental office wonderful and accommodating. They allow pets, which is great. The apartments are modern and updated with full sized appliances including washer and dryer in the unit. They have a resident portal so it's easy to make payments and submit maintenance requests. Maintenance was really quick and they completed the request within 24 hours. My stay was pleasant and I highly recommend it.
I've lived at the met for almost a year and have been extremely happy and pleased with the building, management and staff! The staff here are very friendly and helpful and the building offers lots of amenities to take advantage of. The fitness facility is great and I left my regular gym as this is equipped with all necessary equipment. On top of the great amenities, it is pet friendly, with a dog patio and pet wash. All other dogs we've met here have been friendly as well. The met is very close to grocery stores, liquor stores, walking/running paths, restaurant and allows for a quick leave from the city if you are heading out to the mountains. All around great building and living space, the units are beautiful with a nice spacious kitchen.
We have lived at The Met for over 4 years now and are so happy with the building, staff and atmosphere. Our Apartment is gorgeous and the amenities are absolutely fantastic! The staff are wonderful. Always willing to help, answer a question or have a quick chat. Finally, living in a building that is so pet friendly has been a blessing. Our dog LOVES this place and it’s been so good for here. 10/10 would recommend!!
The Met is an amazing place to live. The building is clean most of the times, elevators always working properly, staff is friendly and know what they are doing. The process was smooth and I'd give 20 starts to Ally if I could. She knows everything, she is quick when replying to emails, etc. The apartment is spacious and bright. I recommend The Met to anyone.
Bryan has been my leasing agent for my second term now and has never disappoint. In addition, the maintenance staff has been nothing short from perfect! The building is equipped with tons to do with their well maintained amenities. The property manager Andrea has a great team behind her! Extremely & highly recommend!
Very nice rooms. I actually live in one of the showrooms and it’s quite cozy. When I visit family that live their I get excited to go. As well as how great the gym is, their is very much equipment. If your moving to Calgary with some family I recommend this apartment.
