The Keg

Came here for our anniversary dinner and had a delightful experience! The ambiance is pleasant for a steakhouse and so is the service. We got the peppercorn steak, prime rib steak and the calamari to start. Calamari was crispy and the mixed peppers added to the taste aspect of the dish, I appreciate how it comes with two dipping sauces one sweet and one chili which added two different flavours to the plate. Additionally, the steaks were cooked perfectly and the mashed potato’s were phenomenal. As you can see in the prime rib photo, we ordered onion rings as a shareable which did not meet our expectations tasted straight out of the freezer to which our server took away without charge. Complimentary bread with butter is provided along with a specialty dessert if celebrating a special occasion. The atmosphere of this location creates an intimate space and while my partner and I felt stuffed in a side table beside a large party, we were still able to enjoy our experience here together.

Review:nWe decided to dine out last minute for my son’s birthday on a busy Sunday evening and arrived around 8 PM without a reservation. The hostess informed us there would be at least a 25-minute wait, but as soon as the manager, Tom, heard it was my son’s birthday, he kindly found us a spot in the lounge right away! Our server was friendly and attentive, making the evening even more enjoyable. The meal was delicious, and they surprised us with an ice cream cake topped with a candle for the birthday boy, which was a lovely touch. We had a great experience and will definitely be coming back!

First time here to this steak chain restaurant's particular location. Made reservations for 8pm got seated around 820??? That's already into the next seating time slot. Not impressed. Finally got seated, server was adequately friendly but not like 'the Keg friendly' tbh. Food was good, just like it is supposed to be. Also put down that we were there for a special occasion but the server didn't make any mention of it nor did they make our date special. Overall I feel a bit let down with this dining experience as I am used to eating at the keg and this visit just missed the mark, service-wise. Food-wise, everything was as it should be. Overall I will be returning to the keg but different locations. I really didn't get the keg 'feeling' when I dined at this particular location and I've been to many Kegs!! Also, I will have to recommend that anyone looking to go to the keg, to try a different location unless you have no other choice.

We were craving a good steak and the Keg met most of our needs :nnThe fresh bread and garlic butter spread were delicious. The bread was freshly baked, soft and went well with the smooth garlic butter :nnThe calamari was good. It was crispy on the outside, as well as being tender and moist on the inside. Would definitely recommend.nnThe rib steak 12 oz with garlic mashed potato was awesome!!! We got the rib steak medium rare and it came out perfectly. The rib steak was tender, juicy and nicely seasoned. The garlic mashed potato was creamy and delicious. Would definitely recommend the rib steak :nnThe top sirloin 8 oz with twice baked potato was okay. A bit of a disappointment for us. We ordered the top sirloin medium rare and it came out as medium rare. However, we found this top sirloin to be on the tougher side. It wasn’t juicy and tender that we remembered from having a medium rare top sirloin in the past. Also, the twice baked potato was okay only.nnThe Billy Miner Pie was awesome. A great ice cream pie :

A First-Class Steak HousennI had an enjoyable lunch here on a bustling weekday. Despite the large lunchtime crowd, I was promptly seated in the lounge area. While the lounge doesn’t have the same cozy, upscale vibe as the main dining room, it’s a good spot for a relaxed, casual meal. The decor is modern and elegant, with a stylish urban feel.nnI went with the Keg Classic meal, which includes a starter salad and a side. I chose the Caesar salad, which was light, fresh, and flavorful. A warm mini loaf of fresh bread with whipped butter came alongside—nice touch. They don’t skimp here. Note the picture I included of the bread is missing the quarter I ate! I ordered the 10 oz filet mignon sans bacon for my main course, paired with fries, mushrooms, and grilled vegetables. Everything was absolutely delicious—the steak was cooked perfectly to medium and seasoned just right, and the entire meal arrived piping hot and fresh. What a treat.nnThough I was too full to indulge in dessert, I ended the meal with a cup of coffee. The service was excellent throughout—efficient, friendly, and attentive. My waitress was terrific, and I wish I had known her name to give her a proper shout-out I was at table 108 on Dec 18 at 12:30 p.m., in case the restaurant wants to pass along my thanks.nnWith the current tax holiday, my total came to $95 with tip—not cheap, but worth it for such a first-class meal. I’ll definitely be back!
