I love smash burgers so knowing there is one in the KW region is awesome ! The Hemlock Barn also use potato roll buns so the buns are super soft too! I got the Smash Banquet and the everything burger. Both were super delicious and I couldn’t forget their fries because it was super crispy and well seasoned- a must pairing with their burgers! They also serve breakfast in the daytime, so I must check it out next time!
Drove out from Guelph and it was totally worth it! The food is great with generous portions, and service is an 11/10 - so friendly and attentive! The sausage comes as patties instead of links. The crispy outside is a nice change from the usual casings found in open face breakfasts. One of the best things about the place is the lovely views of the farmland around. Perfect date spot.
Great blend between burgers and breakfast. Burger was made fresh, the ingredients paired well and the breakfast plate was a decent portion size. The fries where my favourite! Highly recommend. Aside from that, it was a very warm and welcoming vibe from the friendly staff to the connect four game in the patio.
Lovely location outside of St. Jacob's with a view of neighbouring fruit trees with reasonable prices. Their smash burgers are good and the breakfast is well worth it! They also serve Shaw's ice cream in large scoops to finish off the meal. Edit: Tried the brisket poutine. One of the best I've had. Their fries were very crispy when I had the burger last time, and was curiously how their poutine would turn out. The brisket poutine is topped with a large amount of brisket and cheese curds and a gravy with a crazy amount of flavour depth. I would come back just for the gravy! Also, the waitress was very friendly and made our visit very chill and enjoyable.
Burgers and breakfast — it’s the perfect combination! Excellent good and friendly service. The restaurant was very clean, and we enjoyed our meals very much! And getting to choose your own salt and pepper shakers was such a fun touch!
This was our first visit to Hemlock Barn and our experience was not satisfactory. We ordered medium breakfast, sonic dog, and some wings for take out. The food was average but the staff were friendly but the service was not great. We arrived at noon and we left at almost 2pm because the food came out late we were waiting outside, after waiting 40-45mins had to go inside to check and found out that the order wasn't placed properly. If you sit outside, I recommend you to go inside to check your order and remind the staff one more time you are sitting outside Well, I am sorry to leave this disappointing review but wish I had a better experience since this place was one of the restaurants on my 'want-to-go' list for a long time. For those of you who want to check out this place, you would better go when this place is not busy and when you have plenty of time.
The food is always spot on.. and the sausage is delicious.. the flavors and spices you can see they take pride in what they cook. Will keep going back my new favorite breakfast spot.Food: 5/5
Excellent. So good. I will be back. I was looking forward to trying the new location and I waited too long. Delicious burgers I had the everything burger great onion rings and fries. Had a brownie chocolate shake which alone is worth the trip. You won't be disappointed.
I was craving a Smash Burger. For about $30 take out, I got the Fried Onion Burger double and Brisket Poutine. This was my first time at the Barn, but I had been to the previous location on Hemlock St. Maybe it was an off day, but the burger was dry and a bit under-seasoned. The onions were nice, but since the burger came without condiments other than onions & cheese that was the only source of any sweetness - I dipped in some pre-packaged Ranch they provided to get some more flavour. It looked better than it tasted - I would opt for a different burger next time. The poutine with house smoked brisket was okay. In the previous location I loved the fries, so next time I'd get the fries plain, not as a poutine. Service was exceptionally friendly and fast for take out. As a dine in location, the building has a great vibe, I wouldn't mind trying that next time. Just didn't quite hit the mark today, but I will try again with a burger with more condiments in future.
Stopped in for a beer but they are waiting for their liquor license. We had an ice cream cone instead. This is a quaint country location and we will be back to try their food. Friendly staff and great service.
