The Fish Store
"The Fish Store is a seafood restaurant and fish seller at Fisherman’s Wharf in Victoria BC. Our address is 1 Dallas road. We serve a variety of seafood based dishes, such as: Fish and Chips fried or grilled fish, salmon, cod, halibut, and sturgeon. We also pride ourselves in serving fresh high quality oysters, as well as healthy options like green salads and grilled fish, along with gluten free options yes even GF fried fish! Local beer and wine is also available. We have an advantage over other seafood retailers because we are not just a store, we are also a licensed processing plant. As a plant we have the ability to legally purchase fish and shellfish directly from the fisherman and process it right at our floating store."

Quaint little seafood place in Fisherman’s Wharf. You order at the stall and then sit at one of the outside bench tables overlooking the water, floating homes, and boats. Really cool atmosphere. We ordered Wild Salmon fish tacos, deep fried oysters, and clams for lunch. Cost was about $50 and my hubby wasn’t full. The food was good but I was expecting better since we’re right by the water.
Had my first crab here and it was amazing! Also tried some mussels and fish tacos. The quality of the food is outmatched. So delicious! The heater when dinning in was also a lifesaver. The customer service was pretty great as well! Highly recommend trying this place out, even for the experience of just sitting on the water while eating.
After 2 hours of cycling we stopped for fish & chips & we shared. Bowl of seafood chowder. The halibut & the sockeye salmon pieces were very fresh & flavourful. Very sizeable portions as well. The chowder was delicious with big chunks of fish in it. Highly recommend it. Great service as well. Thanks guys.
I love this place!!! This was the first time I visit Victoria. We have limited options for eating out because of the vac***e, but this was the greatest choice : We had deep fried oysters, cod and raw oysters. Literally everything was good!!! And they can make it Gluten free as well. We actually went there two days in a row I'm excited to visit again and try more food
We ate here by chance last weekend and it was amazing. The fried oysters are amazing, the order came with lots of fries, tartar sauce and coleslaw. The oysters are perfect. Fried and crispy but super juicy on the inside because they're quite deep. The food was so good we came back the next day for more. Biting into the fried oysters or fried fish with their tartar sauce was some of the best food I've ever eaten, and they offer a full service drink menu of coffee, soda, beer, wine and have super strong heaters in the seated area. Chasing that tasty combo of fries oysters with tartar sauce with a nice IPA. I would recommend this place to everyone. *Also they have gluten free batter available which was great*.
Friendly Service. Fast and delicious. Glad we came here over the other fish stand. Quality seems higher and less greasy. Was disappointed to hear a few items were "sold out" despite being there within the first hour of opening. Ordered the more expensive oysters, but they were not distinguishable or better.
I’ve had to be gluten free since 1996 & we read online that The Fish Store Seafood Restaurant had a variety of gluten free dishes including fish & chips so we had to try them out. Well, to say the fish & chips we had for lunch were awesome is an understatement. We changed our dinner plans that night from a high end steak house to picking up fish tacos for dinner, which did not disappoint. We then came back the next day for lunch & had fish & chips again. We can’t wait to go back to Victoria so we can do it all over again.
We were in Victoria in late November and was visiting the Fisherman's Wharf. Most of the wharf was closed but this place was open. It was cold that day and we were looking for some clam chowder as we were kind of on a chowder adventure. We had previously went to another place earlier in the morning about 1.5 hrs before . Luckily this place was opened. We ordered the 3 way salmon chowder and Indonesian style halibut chowder. I liked the Indonesian one as it had some curry, cilantro and lime flavors to go with the halibut. My wife liked the 3 way salmon as the corn, potato and cream went well. It also had a lot of salmon pieces in it. You get a slice of focaccia bread with it. Some parts of the seating area has heaters, which helped during the cold weather. We weren't under it, but close so we felt some of the warmth. There are tables on the pier area too, but we didn't want to sit there. There is also a local seafood stew however it only comes in 24oz. We wanted to try different ones so only got the 12oz size for both the ones we got. If we are back, we will try to try the other items.
Mangled fish tacos in the photo because the kids dove right in. Fantastic fish and chips and gluten free for our celiac! Licensed heated/covered patio. The perfect spot on the wharf
EXPENSIVE. EXPENSIVE!!!! 40 dollars for this dozen of the superior oyster and 23 dollars for this large fried oyster. The fresh oysters didnt taste all that great and they are on the smaller side w/ some broken shell pieces. The fried oysters were okay for size and taste, but a bit too salty for my liking. Overall it wasnt worth the wait lined up 15 minutes to order, and then 15+ minutes for the food in my opinion.
