THE FIELDS STATION

The people here are very friendly. The gas station attendant provided ice water for my water bottles on a hot bike ride. There's a great selection of snacks and drinks in the small one room store. It's the last gas pump for 85 miles. Very cool place with lots of history. It seems like the social center for miles around. Great milkshakes, but come hungry.

Love it that they don't give you a straw with your milkshake. Way too thick to be of any use. I need to try some flavor other than blackberry but it's soo good Great burgers too. Prices reasonable for such a remote place.

Great place to stay while visiting the Steens Mountains. Comfortable rooms, good food and a surprisingly great selection of beer on tap. Add super nice people and it equals a great place to visit

Great little stop in a place that definitely needs a stop. While known for their DQ-quality milkshakes (a tad overpriced at $6.25), their food and amenities are what really drive people there. They have gas, a 'motel', etc. With no competition you'll find yourself glad such a place exists. Best of all, the folks there are friendly and will happily fuel you up for more adventure in this remarkable land.

Heard about this must stop milkshake place. Super busy and long wait in line, totally worth it though. Wish we were coming home this way on our road trip just for this place!! I got an Oreo milkshake and it was huge and delicious. Thanks guys.
