The Cattle Baron Alberta Steakhouse & Bar

We had a wonderful dinner at CattleBaron and thoroughly enjoyed the entire experience. We started with a classic Old Fashioned made with bourbon, paired with two delicious appetizers—the chili shrimp and crispy fried calamari. For our entrées, we ordered the Filet Mignon, the New York Pepper Steak, and the blackened salmon, and every dish was cooked to perfection and full of flavor. We ended the evening on a sweet note with the Irish Crème Brûlée, which was the perfect finish to a fantastic meal. Great food, excellent service, and a warm, welcoming atmosphere. The interior decoration was perfect a special-occasion dinner. We would definitely dine here again!

Food was really good. Especially the cowboy cut ribeye steak that was cooked perfectly medium rare with a nice outer char & seasoned perfectly, and a decent wine list. The grilled chicken linguine was also tasty and a very fair price. The server Harry did attempt a fair bit of upselling, with several attempts to say we didn’t order enough food for 2 adults and a young child, but we left pretty full despite his persistence in trying to have us order more…perhaps this is part of the restaurant’s training? At any rate, the food was so good we would return.

The CattleBaron is a nice high-end restaurant with loads to eat and drink. Although I don't drink, I appreciated their display of containers and how many different choices they had. Starting with the appetizers for supper, I would suggest choosing something to share such as calamari along with the bread they give you. The servers were really kind and our server refilled my water around 5 times. The food is certainly good, especially if you choose prime rib or some kind of steak. When I was there, we were given what I would say is a quarter of an entire brocoli along with carrots. For potatoes, we were given the options of mashed, stuffed, and baked, and we were offered sour cream, bacon bits, and chives on top. Overall I thought it was a good experience with scrumptious food, but I haven't been to many similar restaurants.

More elevated than casual dining, yet I was not turned away in my work clothes. Came in for the steak and was not disappointed. Got the massive ribeye with peppercorn sauce, also had a Ceasar salad to start. The meal was perfectly cooked with a generous selection and portion of sides. Great place for a date or special occasion. One of my new favorite places on the Southside of Calgary. Meal cost about 100$/person with all the fixings and was definitely worth it. Highly recommend stopping in.

We came to try the Alberta beef steak for my birthday celebration. The atmosphere was great, the food was delicious, and the portions were huge. Highly recommend!
