Story

The Calgary Food Bank distributes healthy emergency food to individuals, families and the agencies that serve them.

Individuals and families in temporary emergency situations may request up to three hampers in a 12 month period; four more may be accessed with a referral from a community agency.

The first step is to call the Hamper Request Line at 403-253-2055.

We follow Canada's Food Guide to ensure balanced nutritional content. Each emergency hamper contains 7 days of groceries for each person in the household.

We collected over 250 pounds of non perishable to donate to the food bank. Our wellness center Rest Assured Bodyworks, does this every year. Our clients donate a bag of groceries and we march it. It's always a wonderful way to give back to our city. Thank you to the Calgary Food Bank for all you do to support those who are in great need. GOD bless you.
I cannot begin to express my appreciation for all that these people do. They are so compassionate and kind. I hope to be in a better position later this year to be able to pass their kindness and help forward. Thank you to all the staff and volunteers that make this possible from the donator to and administrative staff, a huge THANK YOU.
Nice facility though parking can be a bit tight. Staff and volunteers are always very nice and friendly. They’re doing amazing work here everyday for Calgary. Massive thankyou to everyone there for their help, professionalism and kindness.
Volunteered here a number of times now and what they get accomplished every shift is amazing.nGreat people working and volunteering here. Really awesome place.
Always respectful and great for when you need it. However, right now it is a 3 week wait for a hamper. I don't blame them for that, I blame the economy. Thanks for the great service and for being there for the ones who need it volunteers are super nice and always have a smile on their faces. It's very appreciated during tough times! My recent visit was very enjoyable.
