Story

The Calgary Food Bank distributes healthy emergency food to individuals, families and the agencies that serve them.

Individuals and families in temporary emergency situations may request up to three hampers in a 12 month period; four more may be accessed with a referral from a community agency.

The first step is to call the Hamper Request Line at 403-253-2055.

We follow Canada's Food Guide to ensure balanced nutritional content. Each emergency hamper contains 7 days of groceries for each person in the household.

Excellent food bank. They helped me when I was in need of food a while back & then they helped a friend of mine when she needed food for her and her kid recently. Great people working here; we've never had to wait the couple times we've been. I will return if I need - thanks for all your hard work volunteers! Much appreciated

The Food Bank is always impressive! There is home delivery..delivery to your nearest church..they provide food that is healthy..veggies ect they are.always kind to everyone..and although when you first arrive.. The line will look very long..it actually goes by fast. Have your ID ready or you won't get a hamper. Food Bank is well organized and has a website with all info if you want to know more. Thank You Food Bank and all the Volunteers who make it happen!!! 🤜

Angels in disguise as humans. You call the main line and arrange a hamper pick up, they ask you some financials and are very courteous - You can then choose to arrange a pick up at the main depot or its subsidiary depots scattered through the city of Calgary. I arrived and was treated with respect, love and dignity. You may want to arrange a car/taxi or bus to carry everything. I cannot show enough gratitude and hope one day when I rebound, I can in turn help another in need and Pay It Forward. Thanks FB Calgary!

Very pleasant and helpful people to deal with. The only downside to our visit was the woman in line behind us who had bathed in perfume. Fragrance free would be awesome.

So helpful in so many ways, yet unfortunately there's some food that is of no use to me because of a special diet but what I did get help me a lot
