The Bruce

We had a lovely experience dining at the Bruce Restaurant for breakfast, served by the lovely Annie.nEverything from the kitchen is sourced locally and food waste is recycled to farms.nEggs Benny were delicious, I only wish they’d served it with a potato pancake.nClassic breakfast is just the right amount of food. The sourdough is a great addition to the meal.nQuick service on a Saturday morning during theatre.nWe’ll be back!

My best friend and I had dinner and a high tea service there several weeks ago.nnThe dinner was good-- but my dish came with a really oily potato pancake sort of thing and it was not the right side dish for my main. I hope they make a change.nnThe high tea was very good. The perfect combo of savory and sweet. Really delicious. Well done. My only comment is, our waiter told us that once we wanted to switch a tea flavour, we could let him know, but once we started eating he did not return again until at the very end, at which point I no longer wanted more tea. I even slowed down eating to be able to enjoy a different tea, but again because of his lack of return, I didn't get a chance to try it.

My husband and I had a lacklustre experience at The Restaurant at The Bruce. To suggest this locale is classified as ‘fine dining’ is false. Service staff were uninformed about the menu offerings, including the wine list. Simple questions could not be answered. We asked about specials and were told there weren’t any but once our meal was finished, we overheard them being offered to another table. The meal and its presentation was disappointing. For the price point and how this venue is promoted, both the food and service did not come close to expectations. I will not return nor recommend.

The Bruce has earned its 5 star rating! The attention to detail, the staff’s desire to meet every want and need, the beautiful rooms and landscaping set it apart from other hotels! And the cookie hotline was a delight!! You will not be disappointed by choosing to stay there!! It was a wonderful experience!!

It was my first time staying at The Bruce and I felt I was taking a shot in the dark. But!!! What a pleasant surprise. The entire staff is incredibly friendly, very helpful and help problem solve. I had to get some flowers for an event and was not going to have time, Ashley jumped right to it and ordered the flowers and had them delivered to the hotel while I was getting ready! The customer service and amenities of the Bruce definitely exceeded my expectations. I cannot wait to come back and I would highly recommend them!
