The Brown Owl

We came into this understated restaurant without expecting too much and we were just blown away by the quality of the food. I’m telling you this was the best chili I’ve ever had, just enough spice and a very robust flavor. This ended up being our favorite place to eat in Bend, who would’ve thought! 100% recommend coming here for the food and atmosphere.

The food truck out front is excellent but the bar is only decent, drinks were incredibly small for the high price tag! They were decent tasting but I waited forever for someone to even acknowledge me so I could order and it wasn’t busy. Neat specialty drinks and friendly staff.

Overall pretty good. We had burger and pork belly salad wraps. The burger was great. The pork belly was ok. Could have been great. The salad for wrapping was just kind of tiny, some of the belly was aggressively fatty. Oh and not all the beers are on tap. So be careful there

Our food was excellent but it was a bit spendy for the family to dine there. I love the look of the place and the owner is nice!

He told us they were the best nachos in Bend and he wasn’t lying! Not your typical Mexican nachos but a modern spin on them. Can’t speak to the other items on the menu but I’ll be back.

I have been a patron of the Brown Owl since they first opened. I don’t have any idea what people see in the horrible food truck parked in front. The burgers are reheated frozen meat, dry and overcooked and simply not worth the $40 dollars we paid for two of them and a side of reheated frozen fries. The strange guy on the grill believes himself to be a top chef guru or something and brags about his “sauces”. I just wanted ketchup so he threw three little packets on my tray and when I asked for more please he said it would “cost a dollar.” Come on Brown Owl, get rid of the bad food truck guys and bring back your food truck. These guys won’t even bring you the food to your table like you once did. American service is dead it appears. I will never ever eat this terrible food ever again. Be aware, I have been in Bend for more than 20 years and this food truck is the worst I have ever suffered. Zero stars. Still love the bar. Keep it together guys!

The Brown Owl is a great spot to visit. Located in the Box Factory, it has a very inviting atmosphere with a cool, logging style interior. The food is ordered from the food cart and you can enjoy your meals indoors on one of the many levels, or at the fun outdoor area.

Really good food and a fantastic atmosphere. I had the burger and I loved the seasoning. The service was a little slow, but it seemed like they were understaffed.

Good ramen spot, I came here with friends and ordered some food and sake. The pork buns were pretty good, we also ordered the spicy miso and the tonkatsu ramen which were also good. If you come here late at night bring a jacket cause it gets cold!

You have to try the Cubano for your meal and the Pain Killer for your drink. My husband enjoyed the gin and juice. Friendly staff and great atmosphere. Give it a try
