"Active Culture is a lively, health food restaurant founded on the belief that healthy food can taste amazing! We are a fast casual, family friendly restaurant, serving breakfast, lunch and dinner. We use whole grains, local organic eggs, fresh fruits and vegetables, and unique sauces or dressings that are made from scratch, in-house daily. We have a kid's menu and playground outside near our outdoor patio. Active Culture proudly serves Bonta Gelato, a local craft desert, as well as local beer on tap. We tried the kale salad, BBQ burrito and nachos. Everything was spectacular! I have no idea how they elevate something as basic as nachos, but they do!! They were SO good. The kale salad was HUGE. Definitely worth a stop, especially if you want something a little healthier. The other menu options all sounded awesome.
I got the Grassroots burger and the quinoa bowl. They take simple ingredients and elevate the taste and the experience that the dishes offer. Definitely worth a try especially if you are a vegetarian or a vegan.
This is a lovely spot for breakfast or lunch! The staff are super sweet, the restaurant is very clean and nice and they even have to go containers already set up for easy leftovers. More importantly, the menu has a great selection and the food is so good! Everything we ordered was brought out promptly and tasted so fresh and flavorful without ever feeling heavy. The prices were also fair considering the portions and location in Bend. Please don’t hesitate to try it!!
Excellent healthy food options and very tasty! Most options don't use meat, which is great. I had their potato tacos, which were extremely flavorful and perfectly filling. Definitely will come back again!
Really delicious huevos rancheros and avocado egg bagel sammy! The iced coffee was one of the best I’ve had as of late. Staff is very friendly and accommodating. Overall, really clean, charming spot, with great food and awesome service. Will be back for an açaí bowl and many more iced coffee’s : You’ll be glad you stopped in!
A top 3 must eat in Bend. Great service, unique food and best of all veggie friendly. Back porch coffee and kombucha for the win!
My husband and I were heading towards the tail end of a road trip, and our bodies were craving fresh, colorful foods. We both had the breakfast burrito, and it was delicious! The salsa was awesome as well. It would have been awesome to have a meat or two on the menu, but I understand that's not for everyone. I also appreciated the decor and cleanliness of Active Culture. Even the bathroom was super cute!
Located in one of Bends OG Westside locations Active Culture seems to fit this neighborhood well. A touch on the boojee side but the quality represents what you are paying for. Great selection of very healthy offerings, many I find to be rich and filling enough I either split plates or have a little bit of a snack for later. Kid-friendliness: There appears to be a play area for kids Parking: Not a lot of parking and roadside can be hard to find
So thankful to have found this eatery! Tip #1 Old Town Bend residential parking allows for patrons two hours of parking. I drove around and around until a resident let me know Excellent vegetation/vegan options that are gluten free! Lots of sauces and spices to enhance your dish, if you need. We sat family style indoors and had a wonderful time. Looking forward to the next time! Vegetarian options: Vegan, gluten free too!
Vegetarian friendly, good serving sizes. A few cider options. Got the the vegan bowl, vegan chili and Cali quesadilla. Lots of seating options, kid friendly. Friendly staff and the best part was that Latin music was playing in the kitchen! Hands down would recommend this place!
