The Brick - Owen Sound

My experience goes back approximately 2 years ago where I went to this store to purchase a fridge that was deep discounted and was limited at that price nationally, for a boxing day sale. I spoke to a rep who checked the availability of the fridge at the deep discounted price and was clear that if it was available that I'd purchase it. It was busy so I understood when it took 10 minutes to get back to me on the availability and was told that the fridge was "available" still at the deep discounted price and I reconfirmed that I'd purchase it and started to go through the purchase process only to be told that I couldn't purchase it any longer at the price quoted as the availability limit had been used up. I was then instructed that the store would "honour" the deep discounted price if I purchased extended warranty which added a cost over and above to the agreed upon price. There was an unwillingness to do anything more than that. The explanation didn't seem to add up but I still ended up purchasing the fridge with the extended warranty but cancelled my order the next day. There seemed to be a push for the warranty which, to this day, makes me wonder if the rep was using a sales tactic of I) yes it is available, then ii) no it's not available (and it never was to start with because all the fridges were sold across Canada hours ago but I know you'll walk out of the store if I tell you the truth) but for an extra $$ for Insurance we'll honour the price. Overall, not interested in pursuing any further purchases.
