The Black Cat

The Black Cat is a well known establishment in the heart of Fairhaven. The Black Cat is located in a historic building. This building is nicely preserved and was a for runner of the modern shopping mall. The building is home to many businesses for the area. The Black Cat is on the top floor. I met friends there,at 5pm The Cat was busy. We checked out the bar and were pleasantly surprised. The bar was full with the usual isolated single seats available only. To our surprise several people shifted seats so we could join in with the fun. It may sound corny,but the experience put me in mind of a modern Cheers bar. The Black Cat is comfortable for all ages,legal of course. I had a beautiful salad with grilled salmon,this was no wimpy dish. I'm going to get better with food pics I promise, on my behalf I was hungry and we were involved in very stimulating conversation and beside all that I was relaxing so my multitasking skills were in low gear. I hadn't been to The Black Cat for quite some time,so if that's your situation, check it out. If you've never been,check it out. Just do it.

Recommended by someone I met on a ski lift at Mt Baker! Best French/New American meal outside of Seattle. Atmosphere is historic, cosy and romantic. We both loved it and had to force ourselves to leave so we didn’t break the bank.

Best service, BEST FOOD IN THE WORLD, the crab mac and cheese was sooooo amazing, happy atmosphere. Just overall the best bar I've ever been too. Thank u for a great birthday.

Nice restaurant, in a historic building, with amazing views, good food, and great drinks. The menu covers a variety of things from seafood to burgers to steak. The portions are sizable so no leaving hungery. The beer selection is a nice cover of local brews and the mixed drinks are top shelf. We were never left wanting but also didn't feel crowded by the wait staff. This place is a solid stop on the Bellingham/Fairhaven dinner tour.

Well crafted cocktails, and amazing food. Atmosphere is calm and pleasant, but never boring. A great place for any occasion
