Pleasant service and atmosphere! Very nice familiar foods and some interesting options too, but I’d say skip their dessert. We had raspberry and chocolate sorbet and creme brûlée with chocolate on the bottom- too much fake things in both of them - the sorbet had too much food colouring and the chocolate at the bottom of crème brûlée tasted like melted Hershey’s kisses, so not like chocolate at all. I also have to mention a solid cocktail and mocktail list! Altogether worth checking out.

Well, last Saturday we had a big celebration for my son and his girlfriend, they both got their “Engineering Iron Rings”!nOur celebration hosted ABSOLUTELY UNFORGETTABLE by Ethan, friendly, professional and helpful. Food was good, fresh, but not WOW! That was our first visit and when we came inside all design and layout gave us “ WOW feelings”, but unfortunately not food. So, I could say…Our visit was successful and I recommend this restaurant for any kind of celebration… maybe just couple more drinks for WOW experience ; Oh, and location and parking are not very good too, you need to have 5-10 mins extra to find the place and the parking if coming first time.

The Barrel Kitchen is a restaurant that focuses on contemporary Canadian dishes.nnThe food was well made and tasted good, some favourites were the slow braised lamb shank, Christmas turkey dinner, Bauer burger and duck wings.nnOverall the service was friendly and attentive.

UPDATE: So it appears our original visit didn’t properly represent others’ amazing dining experiences we’ve heard so much about, so we returned and I happily upgrade my rating. Cocktails were great. The Bauer burger was excellent and cooked to perfection. The upgrade to truffle Parmesan fries was genius…they were delicious. Our companion raved about their Seared Tuna Crudo. HOWEVER, It was the charbroiled steak sandwich that almost caused a re-creation of the “When Harry Met Sally” diner scene… it was THAT awesome. Steak was tender, flavourful and the combination of toppings including the Brie cheese took it next level. Save room for dessert - the Sweet Board is perfect for sharing. Server Lana was excellent, and it’s evident staff want to ensure you’re enjoying your meal.  Highly recommend The Bauer Kitchen - definitely lived up to the hype.nnPreviously: Decided  to check out this place due to the amazing recommendations from so many. Will agree that the place is beautiful, uniquely decorated check out the cool restrooms and service was impeccable. The Bauer burger we’d heard so much about was…okay. Understand that the burger buns are now made fresh in house. The upgraded Bauer house salad was great. Pizza looked good. Will try something different from their menu next time.

The Bauer Kitchen is one of my favorite spots in KW.nThis time I ordered a healthy squash and apple soup, it was delicious. I also had a cappuccino and a lemon meringue tart. The service here is always excellent, as are the quality and taste of the food.
