I went here today with a friend for the first time. Around the area there is a lot of bubble tea places so I wondered how they would set themselves apart but the decor was interesting, the atmosphere was quite relaxed, and the bubble tea was good. The covering is made of paper which is a new one for me. The liquid was disintegrating it a bit as I swirled my straw around to get the tapioca. I got their no 9 with little sugar and tapioca and it had a syrupy taste which was a pleasant surprise. I’m glad I did ask for little sugar as my friend asked for half and she thought it was quite sweet with just half. I got mine hot so it came in a paper cup instead of a clear plastic one. The service was fast and the staff was friendly and efficient. The seating areas were unique with stumps and wood in lots of places. My friend and I sat at a large square-ish bar table that had a big faux tree coming out to the middle of the table with bar stools that I thought was quite interesting. It also has an open area to get to the poke bowl place next door without having to go back outside. The prices are similar to bubble tea around. I will have to go back and try their crunchy bubble teas at some point.
I recently tried one of the Crunchy Series drinks: the Crunchy Brown Sugar Milk Tea. Unfortunately the ice, sugar, and size are fixed even though it's milk tea so I found it extremely sweet pictured on right. It was quite expensive ~$7 for small size. I used to always get royal number 9 milk tea pictured on left and I've noticed that prices have increased a lot. I have found that The Alley has always been more expensive but $7 for a large milk tea is too much, especially when there are much cheaper alternatives nearby.
This place is very nice to look at, it’s close to the university so I guess easy for students, the place wasn’t dirty by any means. The bubble tea was really nice and flavorful, I love the Royal no.9 personally, brewed very nicely I’d say myself, the seating in the place however is kinda small, so don’t expect to hang much in there, but still very nice
i got the crunchy strawberry milk tea earlier and it was SO GOOD!!!!! genuinely i think this is my new favourite boba place, and it’s so close to the university which is very convenient. i love the atmosphere inside of the building as well, and the employees were very friendly and helped me figure out what and how to order :
Came here a few times and most recently tried the ube taro brown sugar which was very aesthetically pleasing and you could definitely taste the ube! My only qualm is that they tend to be very busy and slow to roll out orders.
Great customer service for a bubble tea! . Bubble tea’s taste good too! Must try
Cool bubble tea place that is new to the UW plaza! Bubble tea is a little overpriced at $6.50 with taxes but I think it definitely on if the better tea options. Their menu has a lot of options for drinks, I got the Deerioca with Soy Milk, was pretty good in comparison to other bubble tea places I’ve tried. It’s cool cause the bubble tea has a warm caramel base with cold tea on top. Like a sundae. Would come here again, interior atmosphere is super chills and the place isn’t that busy. Orders come out relatively quick too :
My experiences with this location is the same as the one in Toronto. The service and quality of the drinks are consistent. I recommend the Deerioca Fever or Puff because these drinks makes the Alley stand out from other bubble tea shops. The Deerioca series are made with brown sugar, fresh milk, and tapioca soaked in brown sugar. When I had my first sip I was mind blown. My taste buds couldn't comprehend the amazing taste. As this location is near the university it tends to be very busy during rush hours. The Alley is my favourite boba spot.
Nice clean restaurant with really friendly staff and owner. They were very patient in explaining the different items on the menu and were very accommodating with requests as well. The drinks from their menu were top notch. A definite must visit.Food: 5/5
I usually really love the royal no. 9 but I found it tasted watered down half sugar, less ice.
