Telegraph Cove Resort & Campground

Story

Voted one of, The Ten Best "Towns" in Canada to visit, by Harrowsmith Magazine, Telegraph Cove is tucked away on the Eastern Coast of Northern Vancouver Island and is one of the last virtually untouched areas on the North American continent.

This tiny sawmill community was important to the development of the North Island and has a rich and colorful history. In 1912 the first telegraph operator took up residence at Telegraph Cove and marked the beginnings of the little community.

Telegraph Cove Resort was opened in 1979 by the Graham Family and since then has remained family owned and operated .

Telegraph Cove Resort is a historical boardwalk village, which invites visitors to learn the rich history and create new memories to last a lifetime.

Stay in our historical cottages along the boardwalk or camp in your tent or RV in our full-service forested campground. If you chose to arrive by boat we have moorage available.

Dine along the boardwalk, grab a drink in our pub or liquor store or sip a coffee in our cafe.

For a full list of all activities please visit our website.

If your are looking for a unique family vacation, a magical wedding setting or want to fish to your heart's delight, our resort awaits you.

This place is my favourite place in the world. We have been coming for over 30 years. We have stayed in both the historic and the newer side of Telegraph Cove and both sides are very nice. The whale, dolphin, porpoise and nature watching is incredible. After coming here for all these years we still have not seen it all.

The Resort is two things: 1. A front desk for general information about the resort/bookings/getting fishing licenses/etc. and 2. A coffee/tea/freshly baked goods shop. Leslie the person running the coffee shop is a great individual, taught me LOTS about coffee (and completely changed my view on what I thought was good coffee), walked me through how he makes the amazing cinnamon buns. If your in the cove stopping by is a must. At the front desk everyone was always happy, I purchased my fishing license from them as the Gov website wouldn't allow me to purchase it (not surprised) and was very easy.

Amazing place. So much history and character. Extremely cool boardwalk and houses on stilts. Very cool that you can actually stay in the houses.

Great little historic Cove. All the amenities and a great restaurant. Things are pricey, but we'll worth spending the day and going whale watching. Not sure I'd spend more than a day or two, but a beautiful place.

Have been going here for years. Place has a lot of history but it is showing its age. Historic side marina is very dilapidated and cramped for boats larger than 20 ft. Resort seems to cater to whale tours not boaters. Meanwhile the Dockside 29 side has absolutely no character at all ( and the marina sits empty in the middle of June). Bring a thermorest mattress and sleep on the floor. The bed in our cabin was simply awful. Rooms need furniture upgrades badly.
