Alert Bay Lodge

We had a wonderful stay. The outside of the building does not do the inside justice. The interior spaces at the Lodge were gorgeous, from the magnificent beams in the common room to the beautifully decorated guest rooms. The beds were very comfortable. But the true experience was in the time spent with our host, Scott, who made us feel welcome and at home. I would absolutely stay here again.

When we arrived we were greeted by the owner, and shown to our room, which was clean and tidy, with a rustic west coast flair, a covered deck that overlooked the ocean in cabin #4 didn’t disappoint. We were then given dinner options and other information regarding the things we wanted to see and all was very knowledgeable and helpful. Breakfast was included which was an added delight. The lodge was warm and welcoming and we would absolutely stay again.”

This lodge on the Alert Bay Island is so cozy and comfortable we didn't want to leave. The common area is so welcoming and really makes you want to read, write and drink a lovely cup of tea while enjoying the incredible view of the ocean. The room was old fashion, but also very comfortable and clean.nThe breakfast prepared by Señor Pablo was super delicious. I enjoyed the homemade sourdough bread immensely. We really wish we had more time there.

Go visit and you'll understand.nnThis is one of the most spectacular places one can experience. With views that are breathtaking. It's a smaller capacity lodge. However, it provides such diversity in their room options that one could find all they, their family, or a couple seeking a romantic getaway could want or need.nnYour furry family members also have an accommodating two rooms as well as a fenced green space to have a safe off leash experience as well..nVery thoughtful addition.nnFor those seeking whale watching and having an immersed experience, this is the way to go. Incredible.nnStaff friendly, kind, efficient, and welcoming.nnDon't forget to look around the island as their are multiple historic sites, museums, world tallest totem pole, walking trails, and the feeling of being surrounded by beautiful nature.nYou'll find little gems, or the lodge staff are more than willing to share with you in order to share the islands full experience.nnLast but not least, amazing food, comfortable nights, sleep, breakfast included,nnor if you choose to make some meals in your suite, you have that option.nnLove, care, and attention to detail have been poured into the Alert Bay Lodge.nnAlso note: Don't count them out later in the summer heading into fall as their climate tends to be in a different pattern than Vancouver or the main island so you can still enjoy sunny days, occasionally live music and an unforgettable submersion into the oceans beauty right from the lodge outside inside or from your ocean side room.nnJust check when whale watching expeditions end as the ocean can't be relied upon past a certain date. We loved our stay here. It's a beautiful old converted church with a large, cozy common room with books and games. The family suite was perfect for our crew of 4, and we loved the ocean view patio. The breakfast and dinner was incredible!
