My favourite place to go to is Tecumseh Park. This is the most beautiful park in our area. I go to the park every day in the evening and in the morning. I go for a walk in the park. I enjoy coming to the park and listening to the elders. There are many flowers and trees in this park. Many people come to this park from far away. I also play cricket in the park with my friends in the evening. By coming here the fatigue of the mind is removed. I enjoy spending my time in this park. This park honours indigenous culture and is a great place to rest your mind.
Chill spot to have coffee and go on a small walk.
Safety caution: In the last two years users of this park who frequent the designated off leash dog area, during off leash hours, have been approached by an unstable man tall, Caucasian male, older who threatens and stalks people with dogs. The threats always pertain the life and safety of dogs. He’s kicked small puppies. He seems to always go for the offence, even if you’re far away, he will cross the distance to approach you and threaten that he will Kill your dog if it gets close to him. He sits at the bench by the dog area very often, waiting for the next victim. This is a reported issue that has not been resolved. Many people from this neighbourhood feel unsafe to come here because these incidents. This person had come to the park with a baseball bat on numerous occasions. He’s followed people home.
No washroom!!!!! Good for playground, but actual park grass area is not well kept. Full of weeds. Limited trees for shade. Easy parking along side of park. So picnic no....playground yes.
A good Quiet place to reade a book .
I like it because it's peacefully even with children's playing
Great space for parents and lots of things to keep young ones busy. My two- and five-year-old loved this park. + There's a tractor for kids to play on + Play structures are good for an early walker + Water play area during the warm months + Lots of shade and places to sit + Relatively quiet
It's a nice park, it recently had some work done: a newer semi enclosed playground, few more trees, a bee friendly garden. The semi-enckosed playground is the most popular area for the kids, parents as well as seniors. It surprises me that, like many parks in our area, the rest of it is mostly underdeveloped and unused as a park by locals. The areas that are empty... I mean the grass, are muddy, soft. The south side often has deep tire tracks from the cars that rip through it at night. Occasionally a crowd of dog people meets on the north side of the park. It's a bit awkward since the space is not fenced in anywhere, people who walk around the park who might be afraid of dogs are not separated well enough, it's also next to the semi fenced in kids' space. I forgot to mention, it's officially marked as an off leash dog area at certain hours. The dogs and the owners usually keep to themselves, unfortunately the kids don't always seem to listen and occasionally run up to the dog crowd and cause a stir. Mind-blowing. I love this park so much yet it makes me sad. Seeing it the way it is. For its size it's the only fully separated park from other objects, sports fields and schools. It has SO MUCH potential! Most importantly, more often than not, I hear people who live near by who don't go surprise... say they avoid it because of safety concerns: it's so close to Victoria and 41st and has no fencing/natural borders. I was going to give it two stars but it has a rock water fountain for dogs that works in the summer and my pups LOVE it. I haven't seen many water fountains made specifically for dogs in a such a beautiful and natural way.
Dog friendly and great playground.
I like to take the kids here. It has a zipline and a rope climbing tower thingy rope jungle?. A tractor literally, a tire swing, a slide, and fencing halfway around the play area. The swing set is seriously high and I had trouble getting on one. Meanwhile the kids had no problem. They just jumped. Also, plenty of seating.
