Sunset Dog Park

The City has closed & fenced off half of the park for "Maintenance." Then they open it up & close the other half for "Maintenance." Sounds good, right? Wrong! The maintenance is very superficial. The side that has had the work done on it residing & leveling, deteriorates within a couple of weeks. The underlying problems, such as drainage are not properly being addressed. This half & half closer & opening has been going on for over a year now! It is a waste of time, resources & quite annoying as half of a park is all that is operational for over a year. That being said, it is well fenced, has shady areas to stand & access to running water for humans & dogs.

Dogs and owners are great. Playground near for the kids to play at. Only down side is as it’s not full grass the dogs do get dirty.

This is one of the cleanest, accessible, safest parks for dogs in Vancouver. So glad I stumbled upon it! My dog loves meeting old and new friends at Sunset everyday! Everyone is friendly & dogs are well behaved. Will keep coming back!

Best dog park I've been to in Vancouver. A great group of dog owners and very responsible. Very rarely do we see an aggressive dog here. I love all the dogs. This dog park is my happy place. The city should install way more benches though.

Cute, small and busy little dog park. Easy to bike to

It's enclosed, but the grass is quite torn up, and half the enclosure was closed off. The enclosed area is medium sized, but not a large run. This is probably the best kind of dog run or off leash for dogs that are escape artists, or just getting used to being off leash outdoors. Unfortunately we have encountered an inexperienced dog owner here who can't tell their dog was being too aggressive with other dogs, and probably not comfortable being around many other dogs. We ended up turning around and coming back after that dog had left, but they had left the other dogs on edge and unsettled with their behavior. Would love to see some agility-like obstacles in this area, as otherwise there doesn't seem to be a lot of stimulus for the dogs.

I love this dog park Lots of friendly playful and well trained dogs here. Usually the same crowd and once in awhile a new member to the dog community comes along and everyone is so welcoming. I hope you and your furry Lil friend take a chance and come be part of a wonderful community God bless

The area is great for dogs. Due to a couple bad summers they split the park in half to let it recover. I usually take my dog in the park and then walk around the school and neighborhood before heading home. Unfortunately the dog owners are mixed bag. I go during the week rarely on the weekends.

Very nice, close, park. Kept clean, friendly people, friendly dogs. Still socializing my rescue Pitty, so we still just go around the outside, but looking forward to her being able to go in and run. Update Now we know that the dogs and owners r very friendly, and it brings me joy to now see my girl running and playing with a "pack"!!! If there was a scale 1- 10, I'd say 50

It is very popular. Pets and owners have a lot of fun.
