This was my first time visiting Tealive and it was great! Friendly, helpful, and quick staff. Great variety and selection of drinks and food! Ordered the Lotus Biscuit Frappé and it tasted so good - highly recommend. Only thing is that their prices are quite steep for one non-specialized drink alone. That said, hoping to visit this location again the next time we’re in town!
LOVE THIS PLACE! Such a bright and welcoming location, and friendly staff. The drink and food was made fresh and quickly. It also tastes so good and each bite and sip is happiness.Food: 5/5
Super cute interior. The aren palm cream cheese bolo bun was so good! If you’re looking for a different kind of dessert, this is it
** 2nd update thank you to owner for replying and explaining the texture issue and confirming that taro milk tea has no tea in it. Whichever staff member on Jan 21st around 6:10pm told my poor curly red hair husband that taro milk tea is the same as regular milk tea, you’re a liar. idk how you convinced him a purple drink is regular tea. Thank goodness I like Taro, the drink was decent and not too sweet. Otherwise it would’ve been a 100% waste of $9 an insane price btw. Instead it was only a partial waste as I was really was wanting actual tea and the drink had a coarse sand like texture at times. Probably the taro powder not fully mixed or something. Anyways, please in future try to understand what the customer is asking for instead of trying to sell a product and get the customer out of the store. Thanks *updated photo to show the sandy texture and to add that there was a small piece of white plastic in my drink that I almost swallowed, placed on my drink’s lid and then it fell and disappeared unfortunately.
This place is a scam. As you can see from the photo, we had asked for `Ice: None` since it was the middle of winter. However, only after ordering, the server told us no ice wasn't possible for the specific drink we ordered, and if half ice was alright. We said sure. We got the drink and after 5 sips, there was nothing left EXCEPT ice. The "half ice" was literally, a full cup of ice cubes. The rest of the drink was just the most normal matcha tea with a slightly different tasting sugar palm sugar apparently. We paid $7 for this cup of ice. Honestly, there's a load of bubble tea places in Ottawa China Town, all of them with decent ratings. Go to any of them, and actually get some of your money's worth and trust, they will give you no ice when you ask.
This tea chain has different flavours than the other ones in Ottawa, and they also offer sandwiches and desserts! The decor is an upgrade from when it was Chatime which was already cute and they have two self-order terminals. I’m really intrigued by the new flavours and food, but I think they still have room to grow when it comes to consistency and quality.
I like that they have self serve kiosks for those who take a long time to decide me!. The staff was friendly and answered my questions about aren palm and drink recommendations. I ordered the aren palm pearl milk tea and it came super fast ~1 minute and the pearls were sweet and soft/chewy. I like how they use paper straws. I look forward to coming back to try their matcha drinks.
Really cool drinks that taste nice too! The biscoff frappe is so good! The only downside is the wait. There were a few customers ahead of us but we waited about 20 minutes for our drinks. Could be the new staff, so I’ll definitely come back again and see how things go!
I am not lactose intolerant or anything, but this milk tea really upset my stomach, I felt sick afterwards. The predecessor, Chatime was far better! Avoid tealive and try another place instead.Food: 1/5
Went to Tealive today for the first time. Got a sparkling passionfruit green tea with pearls. Love that it was sparkling, and sweetness was spot on. Only thing was it tasted a tad bitter, so the green tea might have been brewed with water that was a little too hot and burned the tea leaves. Overall, decent. I'd be willing to go back and try something different.
