For the weekend it had at least half an hour waiting time. It had farm i side the restaurant to serve super fresh seafood. We ordered Salish sampler, Brazilian oyster stew, bread and butter, all were really good and was more than enough fir three. We liked it here and went back another time during our trip in Seattle. If you are seafood fan definitely recommend this place.
Fresh seafood, high quality ingredients. Chowder was awesome with zesty kick. Baked Oysters were flavor bombs! Oysters were fresh, no fishness, but flavorful. Mac and Cheese was crabby, but bit too greasy. dine in experience required 18.90% gratuity no matter what. servers are friendly and the open kitchen is cool. I would give a 3.5 for this place but that isn’t an option.
Out of towner review: Excellent spot for oysters and small bites, especially if you’re not looking for anything fancy or formal. Staff is very friendly note they add a 18.9% service fee onto your bill, which doesn’t include tip. Prices are fair. Here’s what we ordered: - Dozen oysters sampler excellent option to try a variety of small and larger oysters - Chowder very delicious, probably one of the best and more unique chowders I’ve see; bread is $2 extra - Pickled veggies nothing too exciting but a nice addition to have on the side with your main dishes We had to wait 15 minutes towards the end of the evening on a Friday, so plan arrival accordingly as this is a small and what seemed rather popular establishment. Overall, we thoroughly enjoyed our meal and visit. Definitely looking forward to coming back again to Taylor Shellfish. Enjoy!
Yummy! So glad we stopped by here for an early dinner before the airport. We had their delicious creamy chowder with bread additional cost, half a dozen oysters, and two baked oysters. All were delicious!! I’d love to come back again and recommend this spot.
The seafood here is so fresh and well-prepared - if you have a hankering for oysters then definitely check this place out! The restaurant is fairly small so try to go on a week night for the best chance at getting a table. We tried a couple of the oyster shooters and were blown away by the quality. Additionally we got the crab mac and cheese and the moqueca stew which were both fantastic! The mac and cheese was decadent and creamy with a crispy bread crumb topping. The stew was perfectly seasoned and had a lovely subtle coconut flavor. My one complaint would be that unless you're willing to spend a pretty penny and order a lot, you will probably leave hungry. The portions, albeit delicious, were small and we ended up getting more food at another restaurant afterwards. Best of luck getting street parking here, but you're not likely to find a spot for at least a few blocks. I think some of the apartment buildings nearby offer public parking at a cost.
Wow! The oysters were amazing! My first time in Seattle having fresh PNW oysters! I’m in love! Service was great! So good I forgot to take pictures before we ate everything! It is a small spot so there seemed to be a bit of a wait sometimes.
Love how they have the tanks for the oysters and clams. We've been here a few times over the years. This time, we got a dish of clams this time which were delicious. I would definitely recommend getting the bread because it's delicious to dip.
First impression, the waiters were low key condescending. Like we didn't know where to sign in/didn't see it so we just stood there as they were chatting and then realized we were standing there and were legit low key condescending about it. Sorry? Didn't see the sign in thing, no need to be condescending. Secondly, the happy hour... Isn't really a happy hour honestly? Usually oyster happy hour even good ones can be as less a $1 up till maybe $2 hence happy hour. But these ones were more than $2 an oyster and it's only one kind of oyster they're giving that day, not all kinds of oysters. The oysters that day did not agree with me though. I actually went home with the taste of the bitter fishy oyster in my throat and threw up a little because it was a weird bitter/fishy taste. And I LOVE fishy anything. We got happy hour oysters, which I spoke above, we got the geoduck sashimi, it's alright, fishy at some points okay at some points but def must try if you haven't had just to get it out of the way, and the grilled oysters so this wasn't great, we've had new Orleans grilled oysters and those were awesome this one had a bitter note to it. Anyways 3 stars for all the above on food and because once we were seated the waiters were fine and not condescending as much as before, and the oysters itself were fresh eventhough the oysters didn't agree with me. I really wanted to get more oysters but just couldn't do it. Maybe the other non happy hour oysters were better.
It is Friday night and at 8:30PM, this place is packed with couples enjoying oysters. Closing your eyes, you'd hear the conversation ebb and flow... The couples are actually on their first dates! The restaurant is a popular first-date-after-meeting-on-a-dating-app place, you gather. Well, on this particular night, I dined alone and ate the $125 sampler served over a huge ice tray. I was sitting outside, feeling lucky to have been served 30 minutes before closing, slightly freezing in the crisp fall weather, with a huge platter taking up 95% of the table. The remaining 5% was for my water bottle, sparkling wine bottle, and their respective glasses. And let's not forget the bucket for discarded exoskeletons. I had no regrets as I devoured the tray. An hour of straight eating and drinking, alone, contemplating on how good this rich fat garlic aioli is how redundant is this sauce's name, really paired with the crab and prawns. The oysters were so fresh, one can taste the ocean. I did not care that my hands were cold, that I was sitting on a sidewalk at night, that I was freaking alone in a date place. The seafood was awesome, and that is what matters.
Oysters and more oysters. That's why you should go. Tried chowder. If you like spicy, then it's your style. Good thing I had bread from elsewhere to go with it. There's no to go on oysters so don't ask, don't whine, find a parking spot, and sit yourself down. And yes pay the added service fee.
