Tasty Bones

I always get the hog trough sandwich. (Consists of a hamburger w/cheese, brisket, pulled pork, and two grilled cheese sandwiches as the "bun." It is HUGE and delicious!!! My wife always gets their brisket plate combo and said it is always tender and very flavorful. We are 28 year Texas natives and love BBQ. Tasty Bones far exceedes our expectations every time. Also, the owner Mike is super nice too.

It took way too much convincing for the waitress to take back the pork-filled "vegetarian" appetizer special that we ordered. When someone who doesn't eat pork (for any reason - moral, religious or ecological) finds pork on their fork, that person is owed an explanation, and if it's the restaurant's fault, an apology (still waiting). And when a paying customer informs the server that they're ordering an item because of the lack of pork ot any other specified ingredient, they are not receiving what was agreed upon, and there are laws about that. The customer shouldn't have to fall back on the fact that the appetizer is still frozen in the middle to get it taken off the bill. Food wasn't great, but still leaving two stars because the menu, thanks to some Filipino influence, was somewhat unique. [Reply to Owner: Thank you for the apology, additional star has been added to review. I don't know the servers' names, and I don't have a grudge against her. Please just let all the servers know that people's food preferences are more than just aesthetic.]

I had the southern pulled pork. Excellently prepared. One of the best meals I have had for a while. I will definitely be back. At my most recent venture into Tasty Bones. I took a dive on the wild side threw caution to the wind and ordered the Hot Trough. With a side of Garlic Parmesan fries. I was miles from dissapointed. A tower of meats seasoned just enough for flavor. But not an overbearing amount. As it hit the tip of my tongue my stomach smiled in anticipation. Once again the crew greeted me with an exuberance to envy. My sincerest compliments to the chef and the staff.

I see a lot of good reviews on here, so I don't know if I just came on a bad day, but when my girlfriend and I ate there this past Friday we were very disappointed. First off, it took nearly an hour for us to receive our food after we made our order and it wasn't even busy inside. Secondly, when we did receive our food, I was displeased in the quality. I ordered the brisket and my girlfriend ordered the pulled pork. There is absolutely no smoke flavor to the meats and was very bland. Basically tasted as if it was just baked in the oven and not a smoker. I hate to sound so harsh but I'm just being honest with my opinion. Usually when I have a bad experience, I like to give a place a second chance but I don't know if I could with this place.

If you like bbq, you will love this place!!! It's a great Lil dive!!!! It's in a weird location, but the food is delicious and the prices are ridiculously cheap
