First time eating at an Indian restaurant in Ann Harbor. I must say I really enjoyed it . It wasn't very busy at first but then it started to pick up . The staffs attention to the staff was still the same. Never had to ask for a refill once ! Great food ! Great portions for the price .
Non veg sizzlers were god. Indo-Chinese was okay. I felt it was too saucy. Dahi vada tasted well but curd could have been little more diluted. It was way too thick for dahi vada.
Got Dosas here - the ravaa masala dosa and the spicier andhra masala dosa. Was very happy with the Dosas. The chutneys were very tasty too, not watery unlike a lot of other places i have been to. We also packed a chicken biryani and more dosas to go. The chicken biryani was very good. We ordered mild and are very happy with the spice level.
We have been here many times and have loved it, however today we had an extra good experience. We came in at 2:40, they close at 3pm, and we came in with our 2 year old son...They not only sat us without complaint and treated my husband, me and our son with amazing customer service. The food was amazing. My son ordered the lemon rice and it was outstanding. We usually come 5-6 times a year and it's always good but today it was great! Thank you!
This is the best Indian restaurant we could find in Ann Arbor. We always dine out here whenever we are here.We tried many other Indian restaurants but none were near this restaurant especially shalimar restaurant, never ever go there.
Pretty tasty food. We were interested in the South Indian food on the menu. The dosas were good quality and the potato masala inside was tasty. The medu vadas had an interesting texture with onions and spices. It was disappointing though that the picture on the menu shows 4 pieces but the order only comes with three. The sambhar was tasty but the coconut chutney was a bit thin and watery. All in all a good experience with good staff and very attentive service. The place is also really clean. I have to stop short of a 5 star for the reasons above.
This place used to be my family’s go-to for Indian food in a2. They’ve really fallen off since Covid. Very disappointed in our most recent visit 3/30/23. Pros: Great authentic flavors Clean facility Cons: They took away the buffet indefinitely. That was the best part! The portions stayed the same size, but now there is literally 2 small pieces of meat/protein per dish. It’s all sauce. Was really disappointed to come in, spend $90 on 3 dishes + apps & notice that all we really got was rice & sauce. Couple that with no more buffet, and I’ll skip next time.
Tasty but somehow mild even after ordering spicy and medium spicy, wonder if its due to being ordered under my partners american name. Also given pilaf instead of plain rice for all of our entrees which was disappointing and has not happened before. 4 stars cuz this is only one experience and I've had many other good ones from here.
A good place in city to have Indian food that too in buffet system in a notable price of 10$. I liked the place so much I ate there everyday. One get good option of veg food, non veg food along with desserts. One must give it a try as owners are very generous they extended hotel timings as we were late and hungry.
I’ve been here twice so far and each time my experience has been great. The mutter paneer was wonderful, Mango lassi delicious, Aloo Gobi divine. Hungry? Eat here silly!
